Really want to thank OP for his cloak build. A friend who plays summoner himself, advised me to have a go, and it's the most fun I had in a while. Though I haven't played a lot as a summoner, but I can say, it's really fun, probably the most fun I had in a while.

Its works quite well but don't push your luck or anything =P. Its a pretty good replacement for grace/ir/MoM passive combo. But you don't want to tank too much physical damage in higher level maps 75+ or so. Remember MoM doesn't work with dots. I think the chaos damage left after that zombie dies deals quite insane amounts of damage. You'll need to mitigate with chaos res on gear.

If your looking to gain that +1spectre it won't work. But am curious if the minions gain unholy might can be snapshotted. Let me know.

Yeah, I know the + spectre won't work -- I'm mainly going for the extra damage and unholy might. It never really occurred to me that the unholy might wouldn't snapshot! I'm not even sure how to test it as I dunno if there is any visual effect... gonna have to try it out on a zombie and see if I can tell.

I did just do a pretty unrigorous test to see if increasing zombie levels beyond 20 improves damage and so far I don't think it does, or if it does it does not do so by much. I basically sent a completely bland level 21 zombie against merc hillock a few times and then followed up with a level 20 zombie and they pretty much took the exact same number of hits to take him down each time.


EDIT: Just tried it out and Unholy Might does snapshot. When zombie kills something it starts emitting a sweet looking purple smoke cloud which indicates the unholy might effect. It's pretty badass.

So it does work hmmm. Not sure if 30% additional chaos damage is worth losing 20% of their max hp. Id prob use it on evangelist for sure.

i did a full respec on my scion to this build. im liking it very much! very nice and easy to MF farm with it, very powerfull playing solo and in groups!

the only problem with this build is the hard boss fights. Loosing the minions is a pain in the ass... instance crashes due software bug makes me restart the game and take my time to summon them all again.

however, my gems are not high lvl yet. I think zombie turned lvl 18 yesterday and spectre is lvl 17. From what i see, the spectres do a LOT more damage then the zombies, so i think putting 6L on spectres will be the best choice here. I will test it today.

ok so heres my take on vis mortis vs tabula +1 it seems like unholy might only applies to the minion that landed the killing blow so that means youre not gonna have all 9 zombie with unholy might up. even with a plus 1 minion gem and lv 4 empower on a vis mortis, you get lv 24 zombies now with that setup on a plus 1 tabula, you get lv 26 zombies. according to the zombie dps table lv 26 does 20% more dmg than lv 24. and since most monsters in teh game have low armor adding more physical dmg to zombies isnt that different than adding chaos dmg. so i much rather use the tabula setup which has around the same dps and a lot more life than vis mortis. as for spectres, i think u could try vis mortis for the heck of it but i feel that the zombies will end up dealing the killing blow most of the time so your spectres wont be getting the unholy might.

That's fanatastic -- I had been trying to get that information for a while. The relatively small difference between level 20 and level 21 explains why I wasn't seeing a difference in my test.

A couple of people have been talking about the HP loss on Vis Mortis as if it's -20% to minion HP. It isn't. It's not 20% less health, it's 20% reduced health which is a big, big difference.

Our minions are getting +100% increased life from the passive tree, +15% from Sidhebreath, and potentially ~40% from chober chaber (for non megazombies).

The difference between Vis Mortis and a different chest is the difference between 95% increased life and 115% increased life, or 135/155 for the smaller zombies. Thus the actual health difference in the first case is less than 10% and in the second case is less than 8%. It's not negligible but it's definitely not a reduction of 20%



As to whether it's worth it vs +1 tabula... that's less clear. I mean, theoretically you can get a +1 vis mortis too, it would just be more expensive. That would clearly be the ideal. +1 tabula is probably better than Vis Mortis if you are using empower in your setup, but that is also very expensive. A level 3 empower costs about 20 ex and a level 4 empower costs around 100 ex, maybe more. +1 level tabula is also not cheap -- seems to be going in the 30-40 ex range at the moment. All prices on standard, for what it's worth.

I have gotten all of the HP nodes that you have in the tree, and have gear with mostly 50+ HP on all of it. Chest has more like 80, helm 70, shield 80. Anyway, my HP now in act 1 merciless is barely 3000, how did you get up to 4.5k hp!? i feel so incredibly squishy right now.

I know the glvoes are wack but I didn't have better and wanted more HP/str. I also have not transitioned into summoning yet because I have only been taking nodes that provide survivability at this point because of how weak i feel, from 55-65 or so is when all of my minion nodes will get picked up and move onto summons when i can start getting decent spectres from merciless.

Your level 51, levels add to your hp pool. As for gear I stack str/life and made sure each piece will give me around 100hp.
