{3.2.0} Spectral Gods: [Life Based Spectre/Golem Hybrid Summoner | Clear Speed | End Game Bossing]
" Same here. I am also on Act 3 Cruel, my minions don't even last 5 seconds right now. Would like to know what I am doing wrong as well. |

" Can we get a video of you standing under fire and taking no damage? Would be fun to see. " I remember cruel act 3 being the most difficult for me too, merciless was much less of a hassle. I don't remember if I did anything but just sticking through it. All that aoe chaos damage and very resistant monsters is very hard. Vitality aura + rejuv totem maybe? And going for alchemists first, they die fast, or skipping them if they do not block the path. IGNs GroovyBeard JooJooFromTheWell Last edited by Allnamestaken#7661 on Nov 28, 2013, 1:20:57 AM

I remember struggling until I got to Merc and then things just started getting better fast. Summoners have a very slow start.

" Is clarity really sufficient to counter the drain from this level of arctic armor? |

" Summoners are very difficult to play with during leveling, minions die non stop. In early game, zombies die when a monster looks at them funny. Throwing rejuvenation totem will help. Also, you can not rely on them to do the damage, I'm leveling using Fireball + LMP with Searing Touch unique item and it's really good. My summoner is now at lvl 65, at Act 2 Merciless and at this time I'm just grinding to level my character and gems further, to get the items I need and gem combos and then make a transition to going full summoner. Not there yet and it's gonna take a while now. My gems are I think lvl 15 and zombies still can die to difficult mobs with nasty mods but they last much much longer than they used to. So it is getting better and I'll just keep going and see how it goes. I was surprised that gameplay as a summoner is much better and less passive than I thought it would be. 177 Last edited by toyotatundra#0800 on Nov 28, 2013, 2:21:53 AM

Interesting...
I used to run a freeze mine, but ended up forgetting to use it, plus is just to wonky a mechanic, although freezing does seem nice. Probably won't work well on map bossess though. But if one would overlevel it similar to Matt's arctic armor setup, who knows, it might be pretty strong. IGNs

I have read that one can permafreeze map Dominus with the freeze mine. Have not seen the footage myself. I'm not able to permafreeze even Kole yet, but can render him quite harmless.

While I do appreciate "maxing" the DPS of BM with the new degen changes, I don't feel like damage has ever been an issue for me. Granted I've only done maps up to 75 and I only solo them, so in group situations maybe the bigger damage is more important, but to me, it's more of an issue of keeping key spectres/zombies alive for a whole sit down rather than having them kill something in 2 seconds instead of 3.
The only boss so far I haven't been able to kill so far has been the jungle valley spider who spawned with two rares, one of which had the "allies cannot die" affix, and I ended up with 50 little unkillable spiders and couldn't get my minions on the named. Again I appreciate the theorycrafting on this and all, but isn't anyone concerned that while this is technically a buff for summoners, if BMs start being able to kill end map bosses in ~3-4 seconds some core component of them is going to be nerfed? Or perhaps some core component of snapshotting? Just my two cents, I am eager to see what everyone's results are, after the patch. |

^ you can always replace the damage curses like flammability, elemental weakness etc with pacifying curses like enfeeble, temp chains, etc to boost BM's survivability.
Also pair 1 BM with 2-3 evangelists will substantially improve his survival. Just don't use click targeting to direct minions otherwise he'll run out of the bubbles. |
