Australian Test Gateway Feedback (Updated)

from brisbane i'm getting 49-60ms which is a huge improvement thankyou GGG. occasional lag-spike to 500ms but its only for about a millisecond so i can barely feel it. great work, but i thought aussie servers cost a lot.
working well however I think the servers are under a fair bit of load as like many others I am getting random desyncs where it seems like the actual server has lagged. otherwise great, 30-50 ping down from 250-300.
I may have spoken too soon with my previous post. After running a quick Crypts map solo I have found that it is rather spiky. Not so much in my Ping but in the bandwidth. for exampl I would attack a large group of monsters who would not move at all then 1-2 seconds later they would all explode as the server caught up. Probably not safe for high level maps in Hardcore..

It is however a great step in the right direction for our Oceanic players.

Would love to see the response improved so we can be on a level playing field with around the world in terms of latency.

Other gaming companies could learn a lot From GGG. Well done guys.

Regards,

Volt.
Holy shit!

I'm from Sydney and my ping went from 160ish to 16!

Consistent 30~ ping. I had never seen under 200 before now. Occasional lag spike that seems a bit more frequent than other gateways, but I imagine this is just instability from server load.

I did not notice much difference on my slower, low level characters, but once I tried a map with my 4.0 APS Cleave Duelist, it was very noticeable. Extremely fluid and enjoyable. Sound and damage seems more in sync. Only played half an hour, but was impressed.
Amazing!!

I got telstra cable from Sydney and 10 ~ 25 bing .. Keep up the good work guys

33 latency from AU down from 100 latency via SG.

Tried the 1 Hour Immolation Solo (S02E126) race. Once I entered Lionsgate I was not able to proceed into the main staging area and it kept rubberbanding me back to the entrance. Re-logged, was in the middle of Lionsgate, but could not talk to any NPCs or exit into Terraces or even bring up the WP menu. Had to continue the race via SG. I took video footage of this.

I'm running PoE under Linux, not Windows, so I can't run this "pathping" command, but I'm guessing I can get the same information from the mtr tool. Unfortunately this forum doesn't support monospaced text so here's a pastebin:

http://hastebin.com/tedubirate.avrasm

No packet loss, and the two points in the path with the greatest standard-deviation of ping-time seem to be the network transitions points (from my DSL exchange to my ISP's core network, and from my ISP's core network to the plat.net.au backbone.

Of course, all those are dwarfed by the occasional 1000+ms ping from the login server, but network conditions don't seem to be an issue at least on my connection.
Pity there are insane lag spikes every few seconds that make doing maps in HC too dangerous at the moment. Hope this gets sorted out, but thanks anyway.
@UnfairMonopoly
Getting a baseline ping of about 80-100ms here (Newcastle NSW), which is fine to play and much better than the 250-300 I get from the other servers. There are still frequent lag spikes of 2+ seconds though where the game becomes completely unresponsive.
