Australian Test Gateway Feedback (Updated)
Perth, iinet ADSL2+, around 80ms ping.
Same as SG server for me so far. More incentive to move to the east coast. Desync seems a little worse? Maybe? Ping results in spoiler:

Long load times, but 30 ping! 30!
There are some heavy ping spikes - which provider are you using? I used to have this same problem with my personal internet, and still have it to a lesser extent. It's like the server completely drops out for seconds at a time. IRON MAN

" It's playable but it's a bit unstable right now. I wouldn't play hardcore. |

Its amazing..
went from 130 ping on Singapore server to 28 ping on Aussie server - Gold Coast Queensland.. using Telstra ADSL 2+. Get the occasional 400MS spike but its only when I interact with an NPC to sell goods or whatnot. Please keep this server Last edited by Voltus5#2180 on May 15, 2013, 11:51:19 PM

Initial observations using the Australian gateway:
As a bit of background, I live in a rural area (about 3.5 hrs west of Sydney), DSL2+ connection with a "cheap" ISP (TPG). My upstream is about 0.86 megabits/s; downstream's about 9-10 megabits/s. Normal ping's about 35 ms (yuk, I know!). The Good: * Using the [F1] key's information, my latency has DROPPED from about 220 ms (yes, I play PoE with this!) using the American server, to about 35-40 ms (!). * There's no longer that "sluggish", 1/4 or 1/5 second "feel" to seeing the arrow hit the target, and the enemy drop dead. It's near-instantaneous :D :D :D The Bad: * I seem to be experiencing MORE desyncs (yes, really!). HOWEVER -- they don't last as long, so the de-sync's aren't quite as great (i'm only rubber-banding back half a screen, rather than SEVERAL screens). I've also yet to die from an aussie-server desync :P * Again, using the [F1] key information, I do see the occasional latency spike -- once as bad as half a second (500 ms), although it's usually 220-400 ms. Seems to happen every 60-90 seconds, or so. OVERALL: Hey. I'll keep using it. I've yet to raid with a party using the Aussie gateway -- hopefully I'll have a better chance of racing my party-mates to the l00tz now :) ooh! 'member when PoE was good and fun? i 'member!

From Melbourn, uning Fibreoptic Exetel 25M/5M
30-33ms stable most of the time. Try with a map which got high desync like Mud Flats 50ms max. I will try to do a race on this server today for more feedback. So far it is looking very good. Great job GGG. |
