Why are the patch notes so late?

still no patch notes... Are they trying to hide something ?

They said yesterday in an interview that there's no patch notes, because they're working and changing things every day. Patch notes are a final thing, no reason to release them only for them to be out-of-date after a day. Makes sense to me.

And also, they will not post all the gems/uniques stats in the patch notes. They want us to explore it ourselves (so all the build planning you can do will be very limited anyway).

WOW so this is even much worse than I thought it could possibly be. So we know nothing and it will be a pure lotery what to play.... Where is Chris Wilson??? omg
Does that mean that the most op builds will be actually unchanged? I cannot believe this.

How is discovering/learning about a game by playing it a lottery/bad? And it's not like we're going in blind. They've shown the ascendancies and gameplay of the new skills being used.

Yes. that is exactly what this means. Even though they specifically mentioned stat stacking, spark and grim feast were getting a nerf, you've somehow seen through the veil and know better.

Why are people (that's you OP) feeling so entitled as if they owe you an exact time / date for anything?

Just wait for the patch address notes like all the rest of us and quit whining about it? It's immediately obvious they still have changes and nothing is final until they are satisfied with what goes through. right?

It'll eventually come, just like the update.

Yea sorry, you arent going to "figure out" some build that nobody else will and have the most broken build in the game because you see the patch notes 3 days early from the patch.

You will still be behind a bunch of players and arent going to have a leg up on anyone. It will not take long to look at the patch notes and think of a build.

Sound like they are giving us about 24-36 hours with the notes, should be plenty of time.
Patch notes are late to hold off the kickung and screaming from the nerfs as close to game time as possible.

Smart move.

Some people acting like they're #1 POE2 racer in the whole universe and therefore need the Patchnotes asap....but I bet at the end of the day they simply copy + paste the strongest meta builds from some Youtuber anyway.

I mean they didn't even take the time to listen to the Q&A where they've answered the question why patchnotes take longer, I doubt that they'll ever read them. XD

Does anyone else dislike the fact the we get patch notes like 2 days before the big update?

That doesnt leave much time for choosing your starting build... I assume all the giga op builds will get nerfed and most people will be confused what to start with. And also if you start with bad build it can get pretty ugly in poe 2 with massive inflation and stuff.

why cant we get notes atleast 1 week before update? :(

I would guess they have to go through their version control/project manager software and check what items were actually made instead of scheduled for later, and start compiling a long list of changes

Imagine having to check for 'was skill X changed like we discussed or we just thought it was a good idea? How was it after testing? Did it go through or it got worse? So it was scrapped as a bad idea? then there were no changes' or whatever other combination of results from testing and making changes to thousands of spells.

There is no way that is a fast process. Even if they have some Trello-like solution where items can be put in a "done for 0.2 patch" list, you still need to format the text for a patchnote-style text, and the list of bugs fixed is probably going to be huge as it usually goes with all big software
