Why are the patch notes so late?

This is EA and patches should come fast.

They tried that during the first month and they got flammed extremely hard for it, which is what made them switch things up to be larger but slower patches in a more leauge style setup.
They've never listened to the player feedback before, why does this matter to them?
I believe there will be no patch notes. It'll be all for us to explore. Previously they've always released the notes like a day before even if they're not done. All they have to do is adjust and make changes until release, it's not that hard, they've done it before.
Genuine question, why would you need more than 2 days to deliberate what build you're going the update? That's two whole days, surely that's enough?

I would like to be able to digest some of the 100 skill gems before the release, this way I can actually spend time playing instead of reading the screen for the first weekend of the release.

Knowing the effect of various nerfs and buffs might also influence which direction I take on the tree. As always I try to make the first build myself and usually fail, but each failure is a chance to learn the game. With the EA launch I got pretty close to building something solid on titan, but definitely had a gear issue and spread skills too thin by trying to stack multiple interactions instead of leaning into a couple which synergize better.

This is the reason I want to see them sooner rather than later, to learn in small bites during my morning and evening commutes and maximize play time when I have it.
We will likely get 1 day to plan builds lol. Insane.
I will try the new update but probably quit really fast... I am in such disagreement with what ggg is doing that I feel zero hype this time.

Definitely wont support the game for a very long time if ever again.
They won't name and describe the 100 support gems in the patch notes, forget about it, that's not how their patch logs works.

Also they wait until last minute because they are not done with the patch, they are still working on it this week so they don't want to say something is out or changed to then decide to post pone the change due to issues. Pretty logical stuff really...just be patient, you'll have plenty of time to work on your build.

still no patch notes... Are they trying to hide something ?

The problem is that GGG isn't treating this as an EA. It's a full release, Live Service game to them.

I think you misunderstood them....they only threat the patch behaviour like in it's full released POE1.

Means big changes only come with a big patch/new league and they want to let people cook...they only hotfix OP builds if they lead to server lags or even crashes.

But at the end of the day the game is still in Beta state where you can participate the Beta test via an Early Access purchase. ;)

They said yesterday in an interview that there's no patch notes, because they're working and changing things every day. Patch notes are a final thing, no reason to release them only for them to be out-of-date after a day. Makes sense to me.

And also, they will not post all the gems/uniques stats in the patch notes. They want us to explore it ourselves (so all the build planning you can do will be very limited anyway).
