The new portal system is a good compromise

Hardcore deletes your character on death.

You don't die though. If you did, that would mean you are a bad player who doesn't deserve to progress in this game, as per your own logic.

Dying doesn't make you a bad player. However, dying over and over again and not learning from your mistakes, refusing to make the necessary changes to your build and or your playstyle to overcome the obstacle. While whining on a forum for them to change these things so you can progress does make you a bad player.

This is a misinformed gross oversimplification of what the actual complaint is about. Par for the coarse

If reaching 100 is no big deal to you, then you shouldn't care either way

These people are trolls. All they care about is patrolling the forums, finding people who are upset about something, and antagonizing them.

And here we have a perfect case study. A guy who does't care about being level 100, who has failed to hit level 100 in four months of play time antagonizing people who would like to hit level 100 and telling them they are bad players because they died in a video game.

Basically this. I'm done with them now. Looks like GGG learned nothing with the new patch notes, they instead doubled down and aren't getting their lost player numbers back. I loved the game at first, then it was just an addiction after a couple hundred hours, which turned into pure frustration after 300. They can have their elitist game and tell each other how gud they are
No it's not go play D4

Yeah get clowned on. How much longer is it going to take for you to realize this game is not for you. Go play D4 so loot can rain down like a slot machine to give your tiny brain a dopamine hit
There he goes again, acting like a pro-gamer because he plays a game where you hold down one button for minutes at a time and blow up 50+ enemies per second. A game where he hasn't even hit max level after 4 months.

I'd love to see you stream an actually hard game and see the look on your face when you realize that holding down one button isn't a transferable skill.

I'm retired from games like escape from tarkov and rust. I'm getting too old. I've settled down into arpg retirement home.
Yeah that sounds about right. You can't hack it at hard games anymore and come here to pretend to be a hardcore gamer while you hold down a single button for minutes at a time and blow up 50+ enemies per second.
Glad they didnt buckle to the complaints.

Really is just a build issue or a skill issue.

Im so glad when they called out all the people complaining about map sustain too

"Well we found it was only people who were dying a bunch"

Time to pack it up, the devs are telling you its a skill issue.
Mash the clean

Lol okay kid
Not a good compromise. It's like putting on a bandage on a gaping wound. It may absorb some of the blood but does nothing to fix the actual issue. Having less retries on more difficult content where you are more likely to die is completely backwards. As people have already said, punishing the player is not the same as difficulty. Failure should incentivize retrying and learning, not make you want to quit playing.
