I am curious how many players will never come back after the new "league" launch in poe 2

"

Also, it's bizarre how they're treating this almost as a league launch when it's an update to a beta. Like why are they doing these teasers and hype streams for a beta update again?

This indie company, GGG, needs to sell "supporter" packs.
8 mod maps are the new alch and go.

I'm personally not touching it unless they revamp magic find and improve how the game runs on medium hardware(which includes the PS5 because it runs awful there too). And just thinking of some of these end game maps like Mire just makes me nope out, too

Odds on new supporter packs being launched with this beta update?
If they really overhaul magic find and improve performance on different devices, especially on consoles and mid-tier hardware, I might give POE2 another shot. That would be a great improvement because these issues have really been affecting the overall experience, and I’ve heard a lot of players say they’re struggling with bad optimization. But right now, it seems like the devs aren’t rushing to fix these problems. So for now, I’m sticking with LE, because it feels more optimized and stable, and the recent updates are offering a fresh experience, something I haven’t gotten from POE2. Hopefully, GGG can improve the game down the line and I’ll come back, but for now, LE just offers more for me.
gonna play Last epoch. PoE 2 offer nothing for me so far. i want play RF build with good content.

Ya how dare ggg hype up their new game, I'm disgusted myself.
I created a thread two months ago warning that the game is shit and the playerbase would plummet within months and y'all laughed. I created another thread one month ago warning the same thing and y'all laughed. Who's laughing now? lol

It took less time than I thought for the playerbase to realize that POE 1 is superior in almost every aspect.

GGG wanted to focus on the soulslike audience and ignore its own playerbase and in the end it didn't please the soulslike audience or its own playerbase.

Even if GGG brings a new season with more content, the comeback will be much smaller because no one has the patience to redo all those horrendous trials of ascendancies and basically the same build.

How to fix this mess? I'll give some advices.

- Shutdown the game, right now! Redo from the beginning the game, even if it takes some more years in the oven

- Redo the whole skilltree as it is now the main problem of the game. It is soulless and one-trick, unlike POE 1's.

- Rework the optimization because the game is failing too much in this regard! How can Resident Evil 4 Remake and Marvel Rivals have a much better performance than an isometric game? It's shameful!

I think you can start with these, which are the biggest ones that come to mind. Remember that Tencent and Netease share the same mindset and this implies that when Tencent realizes what a disaster this game is, layoffs will happen!

Now go on, y'all can laugh at me again while I'll enjoy my POE 1.

BTW here's my POE2's review.

PoE 1 started with...endless ledge?

I say watch the numbers when they release the bear. If they do that one right, plus an endgame, I see bears everywhere.
Did you try turning it off and on again?

PoE 1 also started out with four nerds in a garage. I think it's more than fair to expect "a little bit more" from a multi million dollar company.

You also mention "an endgame", as if PoE 2 doesn't have one. I agree. But instead of creating one, they seem hellbent om band-aiding the half-arsed endgame they've got, which to me is crazy.
Sometimes, just sometimes, you should really consider adapting to the world, instead of demanding that the world adapts to you.

You're a bit late to the party, mate. This was already being discussed by me and several others back in October 2024, see here.

[...] Trying to (realistically) maintain two games, let alone two divided player crowds, is imo delusional and likely doomed to fail. If you try to build upon your legacy in a way that is associated with your legacy and yet something entirely different, anything that doesn't meet expectations will sour the legacy (franchise). Or do I really need to remind you of Diablo Immoral? They are following the Diablo formula - stepping in their footsteps - whether you are ready to admit it or not. They want to be the next Blizzard. [...]

And I hate it when I'm right in such cases. I really wanted a shiny new PoE for everyone to recommend to friends, but unfortunately for me it missed the mark on so many fronts.

They need to stick to what works, poe. This poe2 nonsense is a waste of time :D.
Big sad.
