Announcing the First Path of Exile 2 Race Event

Yes, I am for sure going to participate in a race event where only the top 0.00001% of players who play 18 hours a day and have 25,000 hours played. Will win.

Sounds like fun. This definitely wasn't just something to get sweaty streamers streaming about to bring interest back into the game, right? Because you basically forgot about the entirety of the rest of your playerbase.
And what you propose? Make the reward so common that is worth less than a wisdom scroll?

I wonder why theres only 3 medals at olympics or other sport events. Should not everyone get a gold medal?
Get this poe 2 out.

There's something called feedback, which is what I left.

Oh really, lets check what you call feedback.

"
And this "event" you do for PoE2, instead of what it should be, a race event that lasts for a multiple days/weeks, where people can keep feuding for the top leaderboard spots to have the fastest time if they want by going over and over to try beat the top time, where it'd be accessible for all hundreds of thousands of PoE2 players that may want to participate,

... what it should be? who are you to say how an event should be?
Thats why it's called EVENT, because its a special chance to join something and its not always meant for everyone. Thats why they're doing 2 at the same time, so you can choose.

What a crazy idea huh.

"
is instead an "event" for just those who can make the free time to do a few hours of racing and end up with absolutely nothing but disappointment and a feeling of having wasted time when they're not the 1st place of the class the decided to race on.

So, people feel sad for losing the race and you blame GGG for this.

I... i just can't.

"
But hey, on the (purposely chosen) bright side, it won't really pull much attention away from the PoE1 event, since the race will be over within 2 hours or so. Got to make sure we don't compete with attention between the games after all. Right, GGG?

Even if the event lasted for a week everyone would still have plenty of time to join the Phrecia event. So, your statement aside from being false, doesnt make any sense.

"
This is making me increasingly annoyed with you as a company, with PoE1, with PoE2. You said you wouldn't delay PoE1 development because of PoE2, but that didn't happen. You said you would focus on 0.2.0 before PoE1, but due to big mad feedback that didn't happen, as you backpedal and put 0.2.0 on hold while you rush out an event for PoE1, which obviously would require developers to push out this fast. And then you even promote it within PoE2, then all but confirm that you are holding back 0.2.0 until the PoE1 event is done with how it will conveniently be done 1 month from now, when the PoE1 event ends.

They try to develop both games, you get mad.
They decide to change directions based on community feedback, you get mad.
They make 2 events while you wait for the updates because they're taking way longer than planned, you get mad.

"
Early Access was said to last between 6 to 12 months, and we are going from 0.1.1(c) to 0.2.0, which has taken FOUR MONTHS at the time this patch is supposed to be conveniently ready. At least PoE1 is a good game, with fleshed out end-game systems, classes and crafting. It doesn't make it okay that the game has waited this long for an update, but at least it's not in the same state PoE2 is in. It's infuriating that you aren't even teasing what is coming.

I have to agree here, they should make a roadmap so we know whats coming up, but its not even close to be infuriating, youre just mad at everything.

But isnt so absurd to compare a 10 year old game to a game still in early access?

"
What's next GGG? When 0.2.0 is out, will you make PoE1 players wait even longer for 3.26 even if it's ready, so it won't compete with the attention of PoE2? I won't be surprised. You have made me go from positive about GGG and PoE, to feeling annoyed and frustrated. Months of lacking information, to a summary post of what you've done (and yes, you have done good QoL changes, but nothing content wise to keep player retention) with no details about what is coming. Then basically a confirmation you are holding back 0.2.0 because of the rushed PoE1 event when players got mad that you would focus on PoE2, the inferior game together with the announcement of an IDIOTIC event that is not fun for the larger majority of your players because you haven't even made it reasonably feasible to participate over a period of time, but instead opt at a time limited event that starts at a specific time and that will be done the moment that first person reaches the end of Act 3, all so it won't compete with the attention for PoE1's event.

Again, youre just making wrong assumptions and 0 proofs about it, not a single argument is being shown here, aside from repeating here over and over how mad and furious you are and the same attention take you already said before.

"
What you responded with is the typical white knight everything is fine response that contributes nothing. I am already on a break from the game, because they haven't updated it in 3 months. Now it won't be updated for 4 months because they prioritized the PoE1 event and don't want 0.2.0 to compete with that. I used to be positive, but it's hard to stay positive when GGG fumbles this hard over and over.

Well well well, and youre the one talking about contribution! Aside from using the most disrespectful language you could have, with your "idiotic" "inferior game" "fumbles this hard" "rushed event" you DARE to call white knights people who just are happier than you with the state of the game (which looks like it requires no effort) people that dont have a demanding attitude and want to keep things calm and constructive in a respectful way while behaving accordingly.

If you are that mad, furious, annoyed and frustrated over this, something bigger than the game is happening to you right now, way bigger. So yes, you need to extend way longer that break, thats not healty at all.

I mean this in the best way possible, you should take a break from the game.

This isn’t healthy for you, the devs or the community.

The game came out on Dec 6th though, its been out for two months and two weeks exactly today. They were transparent about aiming for content updates every three months, and based on their expected release date for 0.2, it'll launch about 3.5 months after the game came out, which is totally within reason. Why is everyone so upset about this?

And that is exactly why Olympics are only for a handfull of women and men that are the best of the best of the all world in their own sport/Art... Not for the everyone to participate...

The problem here is in fact that this event is thought for the all playerbase but badly designed so only a dozen of pro players could have a chance to win something

And even if it was possible, i wouldn't even bother trying to participate in Olympics, for me it would just be a total waste of time... Time i would have to find to just come, with litteraly zero chance to win, and get rect right away and go back home empty handed... Then what would be the point ?

In any sports there are "categories" so everyone can participate by facing "equal apponents" so the get a real chance to win

And in every competition made for everyone, despite the moto "the important thing is to participate" there is always a prize

If you register for a marathon, there are pro runners, and there is the rest of the world, misses and misters nobody, like you... You don't go to try to win, you go to overcome your own expectation and in the end you win a fracking medal just reminding you, you tried and did it !

That is exactly what a lot of people are pointing here...

Then look again how much are worth demigod items in PoE 1.

You have no idea what you talk about or is just too slaty becasue you have no chance to win one.

Also racing is not about RNG, even with best possible drops you would lose to top racers with bad drops.

Worth is relative, a digital item is essentially worthless. 1 million mirrors is a hexadecimal value on a digital storage medium. It is a static charge on an SSD nothing more.

I play games for fun and enjoy community events on many games. You do realize an arbitrary frame impresses less people than a potted cactus? In game skins that cost $500 scream "chump" not "you is awesome".

Will this DeMiGoD title get you laid? Spending $500 on a date will. I find this entire paradigm hilarious, but like I said value is relative.

Demigod, lmao!
Bbbboring
Good luck Elon
