Announcing the First Path of Exile 2 Race Event

I do kinda wish there was something for everyone who completes Act 3.

Just feels pointless for most of us who know we do not stand a chance at all.

Honnestly, i couldn't care less about those races...

I'm not a "competitive" person, i don't even like pvp, i don't think it's fun, and i'm not that good at the game so i wouldn't even just expect ending up in any top or something

So since i won't have any interest taking part, why would i even try to participate ?

I mostly agree with some comments here... Those armor pieces/skins should be a reward for all contestants

And there could be specials prizes (coins? skin choices?) for the tops 3/5/10 of each class ?

Please don't end the PoE 1 event when 0.20 releases, thinking you will migrate everyone to PoE 2. Some people don't care for PoE 2 on a fundamental level. Don't force the issue.

That's neat, but I'm not going through these acts yet again, at least until full release. Not a big fan of a new method of torturing people by forcing them to go through huge mazes.

I think racing in poe1 was primarily to test the balance tuning and fresh economy while leveling when adding new skills or acts as well as the new skill trees. It was fun watching some racers who knew what they were doing and learning about the game. Here it feels like the motivation is primarily to pump up the number of viewers and not as much about actual game balancing and testing.

For those that wanted a fresh economy, this is the best/easiest way to experience it. I know I can't win, and I may even run a new character. I won't make it to maps, but I might try some other build.

I think I only ever got enough racing points for a ring in poe1, not like anything only available in standard matters much anyway. They will probably award twitch drops to reward viewers instead of incentivizing playing the game itself. They mostly need to interest people who havent joined the beta already. Points rewards would be welcome, but personally it wouldn't influence my participation one way or another.

disclaimer: since every post welcomes hostile responses - this is just an opinion, not a demand or entitlement. ggg can do whatever they want with the game, and I will simply play it or not. these discussions have made me run out of popcorn again.

My reaction to this is that there are so very few helmets in PoE2 that look even remotely decent, and it's a shame that when one nice looking helmet is finally introduced it can only be obtained by a handful of people. That's disappointing.

If the underlying goal here is to encourage players to run through the campaign again, then everyone who goes through the campaign again should receive the helmet. Turning this into a race event is a bad idea and seems to only be generating ill will.
