Announcing the First Path of Exile 2 Race Event

Yeah yeah, gamers are toxic and self-entitled, we all know that.

But ggg should have predicted this backlash and they could have done something to prevent it with a bit of care. Not meaning to get political here but there's clearly a certain type of person that get triggered by the words "participation trophy". but really in an event like this, what would be the harm in having them? The winners could get more/grander prizes and everyone who finishes could get something too. Hardly the downfall of Western society or whatever doomer thing you think.

As it is now there is no incentive for me to do this event. I won't win and it doesn't sound like a fun task (basically redoing the campaign for no reason at all). There's no bitterness on my part, I hope those that play it have fun but I'd rather continue to play my current character.

Perhaps I will watch the winning run and learn how to get my next character to endgame a bit quicker.

spitting in my face? lmao bro control your emotions. i've Played Path of exile since 2012 and supported maybe 100-200$ total and 10$ for poe 1 beta and 30$ for this one.

The amount of enjoyable content i have got from this company is insane. And I know they will pull through for POE 2. Now spending 100$ on a AAA title money grab.. that is spitting in peoples faces.

The Helmet should be a "participation trophy" if you get it done in like what, 6? 8? hours imho.

The top racers should be eligibile for prices of monetary value, or maybe some shop currency.

If just the top of the top gets all the throphies and prices as described in the post, honestly, I will really get mad and sad.

can't believe we got poe racing for 2 before 1 when we begged for it for years, and no gauntlet doesn't count since that's community based.

no wonder everything that's happened recently feels like it's been from devs releasing their first game after a week out of college when chris has been terminated.

Even better than 599,997+ players getting shafted, is if you win, it's unique tab fodder. (Don't forget to buy your $20 unique tab advertisement)

Alienware was also never respected so I have no comment or opinion on any of that and didn't bother reading what it was about.

This is so bad. Nearly 3 month since EA release and nothing than a minor patch and some hotfixes. And now we must wait at least another month for patch where no one knows what is included.

And meanwhile they announce a f...ing race for the .01% nolifers.
