State of Early Access Update

ehum, i beg to differ. the endgame is the major thing being nice atm. some good grind, some good loot. Just remove the overpowered combinations (such as dmg support gems etc). we dont want oneshooter screenclearer teleporters of doom.
There is suppose to be a nice signature picture here

This post just shows they don't get it... The biggest problems are giant map sizes with no movement speed and timewasting mechanics combined with no crafting. They are, once again, claiming to increase loot but it just seems like Kalandra all over again.

RIP POE2, hopefully not saying the same thing for POE soon. They are TRYING to pad play time removing game mechanics and adding walking / more RNG. It's on purpose and they aren't going to magically back off on it.

Players number went from almost 600k to less than 150k. You lost 75% of your playerbase and what do you do? A very very very long post to tell yourselves how good you were, then end it with a few lines regarding future plans and then... add the topping to the cake: we plan to release major updates EVERY FEW MONTHS. For a game which was supposed to be in EA for 6-12 months.

Why don't you just be honest and tell us that the game will reach v1.0 in 18-24 months, at least?

I completely agree with what you said.

Was expecting updates frequently... they really did not strike while the iron was hot. From so many perspectives this situation got really weird and bad quickly.

They need a PR person like bex. All they had to do was drop a poe 1 weird league with the wild woods and drop a class or two in between all of this for poe 2.

That's how leagues go though. Huge player numbers first 1-2 months then it drops off. I'd rather have them fixing the broken engine than adding new classes.
This felt like I read a chatgpt blurb on the overview of the recent decisions made by GGG, not an announcement of things they've learned or are thinking about.

they didnt even acknowledge that towers are a huge failure, no, they keep doubling down!

there is no way in hell to get me back to this bad game until that system hasnt been changed dramatically.

if i wana return at all, because they let us poe1 players down and lied in our faces about 3.26!

what an awful situation for people who shoved hundreds of dollars / euros down the devs throats.

You played PoE1 right? They didn't lose 600k players. Players flock in at the start of a new league and then the numbers dwindle.

Currently (while writing this) they have 125K on steam (thats only on Steam).

Also the game launched EA 7th of December. Its been Holidays etc. They haven't had a full two months since launch.

Real issue is the engine is a copy/paste from PoE1, poorly optimized and broken.

We did attempt to address some of the more overpowered player skills, but backed off somewhat in order to prevent breaking peoples characters. We initially thought that there would be more tolerance for this kind of thing during Early Access, but we were incorrect! We will save changes like this for larger balance updates.

Personally, I would prefer more drastic change more often. Even if it breaks some build and character. We are in early access, this is to be expected. It would be more beneficial to reach end or early access sooner.
- please remove rare killing requirement, add bosses to maps.

- shouldn't need checkpoints in maps, current layouts are not fun.

- i lack agency in this atlas

that being said, i can't wait to play more classes and skills!
