Feedback from Ben_ and my comments

Also, a fun thing to note about Spark's interactivity: Unleash makes the projectiles move in a straight line instead of wriggling around randomly, which also gives them a speed boost. Not sure if this is intentional or if it's going to be removed, but I think we need more cross-skill interactions like that.
I agree with most points he made, and think if those points were addressed it would be a better game (although I would have preferred reading a more prepared presentation).

POE1's atlas system is hands-down better than POE2's in its current state. Particularly, the basic design of being able to pick a map, pick your mechanics, and blast away is something I've been sorely missing in POE2. Mobility is also a nightmare - base movement speed is just too slow, on top of the removal of movement skills. If these two things are kept the way they are, that's fine and all, but I'll be remaining a POE1 player instead.

On the positive side, the campaign is rad.

Who?

Ben is well known to anyone who plays POE regularly and is moderately knowledgable about the game or even a little bit plugged into the games community, because he's the most accomplished/skilled player in its history. hth

This is precisely why I wouldn't listen to him. He likes poe1 enough to nolife it that hard, I liked it enough to play maybe 7 or 8 leagues worth before I'm totally sick of it. We clearly don't have the same opinions and tastes so why would I want poe2 to become more like his vision of poe1 with the "shared endgame" nonsense.

I stuck the video on over breakfast, and tbf his take is more nuanced than that. It's more like in its current state there is no advantage of poe 2 endgame over poe 1. And realistically poe 1 is 'better'; map size/implementation, build options, gearing etc etc etc. I mean I didn't hugely enjoy poe 1 endgame, but I can't really fault him on that. Crappy 0 button RF chief did actually require more input most of the time.

As he says it's easy to say this stuff will be fixed, but it's also hard to deny that ggg are being quite conservative with changes at this point. If they leave major balance for leagues, that's probably 3 revisions before release. Assuming dec 2025. And that will include all the new classes, acts etc, possibly even an AH (which will be a nightmare to balance) - that's a lot of feedback noise.

I mean obviously we don't know, they may be fully cooking at the moment. But cooking and not tasting can create some nasty shit. Make a test league or something. Anyway, yeah - whatever they're up to, his feedback isn't particularly nasty or anything, no 'omg tencent own them, gief mtx and drop xp loss', it's fine to be giving it.

why should I care about a streamer's opinion?

You don't have too, but many people will because Ben is one of, if not the best PoE player currently, there are only a few people that can even compete on his level so if he find something frustrating, you can sure as hell bet others will also.

PS: if u think game is good - you are a problem. No offence, agree with this statement

100% this. Campaign is good. Endgame is horrible and needs complete rework to be in line with the vision of the game we had in the campaign.

And so much of this shit is, like, oh, you can hand me the way with, oh, it's early access. But, is it really? Like, I mean, to me, when I hear, like, early access slash beta, what I think is, this is an unfinished game that's gonna be changed a lot constantly. It's been two months. What's changed? Like, what's changed? There's not even balance changes happening until, until resets come out. Like, with new leagues as if it's a fully released game. I don't get it, man. I don't get it.

Oh, I can’t stand hearing the same arguments anymore—‘It’s been two months, why hasn’t GGG fixed this or that?’ People seriously don’t understand how difficult it is to develop and implement changes in projects of this scale.

I’m not against constructive arguments, but this…"I don't get it, man. I don't get it."

What we have right now in terms of endgame content is actually huge, especially considering that GGG had to pivot and start developing all of this from scratch. The speed at which they’ve done it is honestly insane.

As a rule of thumb i never read OPs that are posted on someone elses behalf.

If the person who's opinion is so valuable does not post it here then from my perspective they do not value their opinion being heard by people who would be able to discuss it, such as the dedicated people in this very forum.

I never said i didn't care about their opinion but suggested that they perhaps don't value their own feedback enough to post it here, If they did i would definitely read it.

Sorry if that or my previous post seems combative but its really about etiquette for me.

Enjoy the free bump.

The argument was actually "Why have leagues in early access, like it's full release?"
And I agree. If you wait this long, people will get used to the current state of the game. And any serious changes will be met with backlash.
