Dear GGG, Stop Trying to Make a Game For Everyone; Stick to your Core POE1 Customers

Truth be told it doesn't really matter what we post here.
People posting on game forums are the "vocal minority", just look at the game online numbers. PoE2 doing great so far.
They will really react to what we have to say here ONLY when the online numbers go down and there will be a reason for them to search for the cause so then maybe.. maybe.. someone from the higherups will check on something like this thread for actual ideas/opinions. Until then it's just us and "somebody in the internets is wrong about something, I have to tell them that"

By the way, I'm only talking about overall playerbase engagement and game design. GGG probably makes a shit ton of money milking whales, and they were likely very profitable.

I read your post. There is no way to milk "whales" in poe1. You cant buy your way to endgame. The most you can buy is cosmetics. I have put about 2500 into just my 2 accounts in POE1 and have gifted maybe another 2k to others like my three children. I cant think of much else I can buy unless I want the spore footprints or something. There are no recurring expenditures to be had in the store. Dont take my word for it ... dont ... go into the POE store and add up everything you can buy if yo uwanted everything. Id be stunned if it broke 5k.

I see it wasn't a reading problem indeed, you just have absolutely no clue what you're talking about and your reply proves it.

1) Is there a limit to how many stash tabs you can have? If not, there's no limit to how much you can spend in this game.

2) You don't need to sell P2W stuff to milk people for money. There are so many strategies to get gullible adults that lack self control into spending their money. This is done in basically every B2C industry, not only games.

In fact, here's a well known strategy for you:

3) Every new league has new supporter packs that aren't available in the store, so going to the store alone doesn't allow you to evaluate how much money can be spent in PoE too. By the way, "available for a limited time" is a very well known sales strategy to push people into making impulse purchases (i.e. milking money from gullible adults with little or nonexistent critical thinking and self control).

Maybe it was my mistake in using the word "whale", since it's too broad of a term with no actual objective definition to it, but the rest of the points still stand: PoE is not a big game. GGG just milks gullible people into buying cosmetics every new league and it works flawlessly.
Cipsoft, which is the company that made the Tibia game I mentioned before, is highly profitable and uses a similar strategy. It's only sane to assume GGG is even more profitable, since they run more aggressive strategies, run multiple leagues per year and the engaged playerbase is slightly bigger.

Spamming 2000 alteration orbs. You mean THAT wonderful crafting? Right...
I have roughly 13k hours into PoE 1 and I find Path 2 very boring.

Everything from the limited combo of skills and supports, to the limited paths to clusters on trees, boring ascendancy options, even the fight with Magics and Rares aren't worth it (especially while levelling). The game feels more like an action game than an ARPG. There's too many "required" ways to do things.

I do believe that the amount purchased is actually something that has to be considered in feedback and I dont apologize for it. Let me be specific. If you played POE1 off and on for 10 years but never bought anything, your value to GGG is minor. If you bought $100 they probably want to keep you. People can decry this all they want but GGG is a business.

I genuinely enjoyed it tbh. Either way way better than current implementation in 2.

I think you missed about 3/4 of the POE1 crafting system.
Core poe1 customers uninstalled poe2 in december
GGG needs to sit on the invisible hand and bring down the prices on some of these omens so we can engage with the new crafting system.

GGG Wants to sell cosmetic expansion packs to those of us who choose to buy them and you have a problem with that? It would be a good business model to keep encouraging those players to want to keep buying the flame effect for their sword and you have a problem with that?

They are a business. Businesses make money. Every one of the dollars I have parted with in this game I have done so eagerly and willingly down to purchasing the original founders pack and the Liberator of Wraeclast pack. People like me are EXACTLY the type of customers a BUSINESS wants to keep.

Customers like you reap the benefit of our generosity to GGG. One would think you would be thankful and appreciative of us but, weirdly, it seems to be the opposite.

By the way you can only have so many stash tabs before it gets annoying, trust me. I wish I could hide a couple.
