What aspects of the game are actually an improvement over poe1?

PoE1: You stand still in the middle of 1000 mobs attacking, not caring, 99% of the time you take 0 damage, 1% of the time you get 1-shot.

PoE2: You actively predict and dodge enemy attacks. You dodge skillfully, you survive. You fail, you take damage, or die.
Graphics. Otherwise nada.

What you described isn't PoE 2 end game at all. It's kill first or die META just like PoE 1.

Oh my, this isn't true. I play non-meta builds. Ofc they are not effective as meta build. But they are viable, playable and enjoyable. Stop with this "meta or nothing" nonsense.

oh my this isnt true
* Boss gameplay - vastly superior to PoE 1 bosses. Too bad in endgame bosses get completely drowned in power creep.

* WASD (I don't use it, but people say its nice)

* Controller (ditto)

* Dodge roll - it equalizes movement across players, but unfortunately then GGG introduces power creep that only some people can use in form of blink. lol

* Tiered rare loot (needs to be expanded, 10+ tiers and start dropping in campaign)

---

It seems GGG is proficient in introducing good mechanics, but also self-defeating those good mechanics ;)
