Need to consider perspective.
"Op" is a sliding scale based on anything's comparison to everything else.
If you nerf The top five builds. The next top five will also be op compared to everything else...
True balance never existed. No arpg has EVER been balanced.

100% right here. I never understood people crying about nerf this and nerf that in a PVE game. If the build looks op, then make it. I honestly don’t get it. If the company wants to balance the game, then buff your content. More boss HP etc.
Public announcement for people that don’t already get it, EVERYONE IS GOING TO GET NERFED AT SOME POINT! If you can’t take that, go play something else until next year when 1.0 releases. Just get it in your head now. There’s going to be a build that is the best build you have ever played, and you’re gonna think about playing it all day in school or at work and about what upgrades you want to do or different stuff you want to try with it. Then one day you’re gonna read the next patch notes and GGG is going to totally destroy your dreams.
If the thought of that angers you, this isn’t the game for you. No one who’s played this game for any period of time cares either. Save your fingers from typing out the “quitting the game, wtf GGG?!?” Literally no one cares. Not on here, or on Reddit.
While we are at it, can we please just admit to ourselves that Reddit is the worst thing to happen to gaming in gaming history.

Why do you care?
Because existence of few absolutely correct choices among many presented is what drives players out of the game, it's well known fact that players will optimize their own fun out of the game given the chance. Also fomo in regards to not playing OP builds, economy etc.

More than just fix
There should be a wipe, obviously - just to FK UP all the RMTers life, which is already good enough reson to do it.

It's not a league. It's an early access standard version of the game that will basically become a graveyard soon. It literally does not matter. Just play the game.
GGG never promised that the EA release would be a proper league with a balanced economy and build diversity. Just shut up and play the damn game.
Still waiting for GGG to admit that they made mistakes and actually work on fixing them.

So players who have been farming for gear should lose everything to penalize the 0.1%? It was all in Poe 1, too, so what? It happens in every game and it's hard to fight it and if you wipe, you'll give them a fresh economy.

But it's still trash because GGG ignored tester feedback.

That depends on how much content they have nearing completion that we dont have access too.
They said they pivoted right before EA launch to put the end game in rather than the last acts, so they might not be far off.
