The issue is most Monks are converting phys ice/lightning and than you get the nodes related to them. So taking the cores over Iron has stronger play into DPS even though a player wouldnt see that if just looking at "DPS" on trade site.

Does Flicker Strike or the Bell convert to elemental ? No it does not , that's why my big physical stick can reach hundreds of K in DPS and delete Bosses immediately when i launch FS on my Bell .

Well again my point is about conversion right. yes flicker/chayula people this doesnt apply. but id be willing to bet most Monks are doing some sort of elm conversion due to skills. So obviously those would be the exception. (I also was doing flicker and got tired of dealing with the charges (side note I have a way to fix that easily enough). So I personally changed to flurry and shock wave. And I to can clap the hell out of T15/16 bosses with a party no sweat charge/bell unbound avatar and poof mega DPS.

I use a lot of Elemental as well through Ice Strike & Charge Staff . The trick to have numbers go very high without conversion nerfing your physical damage is to convert Extra damage not convert Base damage : Extra Damage if you Freeze/Shock , Extra Ice Damage but less Lightning/Fire on pure Ice skill like Herald of Ice , Extra Damage from Passive Tree , and so on .

As for easy to get Power Charges for Flicker Strike / Charged Staff there is nothing more easy to do :

- passive points in the Staff Mastery "one charge spent count as two"
- the node next to it "+60% Critical Dmg , +2 Power Charge"
- Notable "earning Frenzy Charge grants Power Charge instead"
- take all +Crit Chance & take +Damage when doing Crit on the way
- Use passive skill "earn Frenz- Power Charges when Freezing / Electrocute a target" and put Ice Strike set as default Attack + use Charged Staff with Electrocution buildup conversion => you get full charges in seconds after Freezing / Electrocuting the first pack of mobs and then run endless Flicker Strike on the others
- when you play against Bosses without mobs to gets you Power Charges you use active skill Mark of Chaluya whatever that apply Mark & Curses on hit , put on it the Curse that reduce Armor + the Mark that grant 1 Frenzy Power Charge on Crit => you trigger Charged Staff + Ice Strike to Electrocute/Freeze it in seconds and then Flicker Strike on the Bell with his armor being reduced will instakill it

All of it requires zero legendaries or weird passive skill shenaningans , is very easy to manage , you just need to loot or buy a big mean physical stick and invest in Extra Elemental damage .

It's quite reasonable and straight forward to-do lists.

"use Charged Staff with Electrocution buildup conversion"
"Mark of Chaluya whatever that apply Mark & Curses on hit"
It's good reminder. I will definitely test those no matter if I can make use of those on cold crit invoker.

As for ordinary physical to elemental conversion damage scaling, for example crit bonus damages, it is actually same as "converting normal hit to critical hit then increase the converted damage by corresponding means". Because there is higher restriction to make "normal to crit conversion" happening, converted damage aka crit damage scaling ratio is much higher than other ordinary damage scaling method.

What it actually matters is, how we stack damage scaling layers.
Again, your post is quite reasonable and straight forward to read for me for that simple? reason.

In the end, what we were talking about was what to talk about together. It was definitely "weird" and still is.

I'm still in the process of balancing it out so it's WIP :
https://maxroll.gg/poe2/passive-tree/em1m4f01

Red route = the one with your Staff
Green route = only used when trigger Mark of Chaluya , with another dedicated staff or empty hand + shield ( that's what i am doing right now , got the unique with +45% Skill duration )

Skills :
- Ice Strike with Attack Speed , more Cold when Freezing , more Damage with less Area , ...
- Flicker Strike with less Power Charge spending and as much Phys damage as possible
- Charged Staff with Electrocute + Electrocute Primed Enemies so that when using Ice or Flicker Strike you will Freeze ennemies at Close Range & Electrocute at Long Range ( or doing whatever is faster on bosses )
- Bell with as much +90% Area of Effect 6 second Cooldown , Break Armor for 15% of Damage
- Mark of Chaluya with Ranger Mark for Power Charge / Crit Damage on Bosses + Curse of Weakness for lowering Armor and maximize Flicker Strike + Bell damage output
- Herald of Ice with more Crit Chance on Full Life & Damage on Low Life ( never to use "no ailment buildup" gem on this , it does not freeze but it chill so it is of major importance when using the "Shatter on Chill" ring )
- Ghost Dancer with less duration for faster refresh
- Shadow Dancer biggest Cooldown possible , so 10s during which Gale Force can't trigger again so it maximize the longevity of Evasions buffs ( when it explode it triggers Blind-Maim-Cull )
- Power Charge on Freeze / Electrocute as last skill

No need for Elemental Res reduction / penetration = both Cold/Lightning damage will completely ignore res on Critical hits , same story for non Critical hits once the target is Frozen ( if it's a boss = Bell then Flicker Strike and you won't have to Freeze it a second time )

Also , due to the amount of physical damage done with Flicker Strike & the Bell you can actually run that kind of build without any investment in Mana Cost or Mana Regen as long as you use a Mana Leech on % Physical Damage on your staff ( back to the original subject lol ) .
