Trial of Sekhema MUST change or go away.
I think I've been only doing Sekhmas. I'm chasing the last alliance, and the against the darkness with spirit+12.
But something else dropped (twice in a day for that matter) so theres that. I have minions and a good set of Relics to run with so its a bit easier. It was challenging though when I was trying to get my ascendancy thats for sure. |

I don't mind if they make me do Sekhemas once, in Ac2 just to get my first ascendancy.
But having to do it again is not fun. I don't find it either rewarding or enjoyable content. The curses are WAY too strong. Like one debuff can basically instantly destroy your run. Enemies having +50% life, or reducing your speed by 25% can just end your run right there. I personally didn't mind the Trial of Ascendancy in PoE 1. And while i don't think it would be a good idea to make us run a Trial of Ascendancy 4 times in PoE 2, it wouldn't be so bad to have to do it once. The trial of Sekhemas is also really un-balanced in terms of how your honor is decided. Honor is decided basically by totaling both your health + energy shield together. So if you are playing an evasion character, who is potentially not stacking a ton of either of those, you just get screwed. But since you can't "evade" traps or aoe spells, your evasion is basically useless in the majority of the trial. You get less honor than other playstyles, and nothing to make up for it. I noticed when i made my first ranger that the trial was way way harder than my witch because my ranger had less than half the honor. The keys need to be much much more rewarding. The curses need to be slightly less punishing. Getting ONE curse should not destroy your run. At the very least, they can keep it in the game, but forcing people to do it for ascendancy is probably not a good idea. The way i see it, they COULD make Sekhemas fun, but in order to do so they need to vastly improve the potential "boons" you can get, along with the rewards. It could actually be fun to get your hands on like 2-3 boons that make your character a god along the way. Think of roguelike games like Heroes of Hammerwatch, where once in a while you get a perfect set of boons that just allow you to destroy everything in that run. It becomes fun knowing that there is a CHANCE you can actually end up with BENEFICIAL RNG instead of just punishing RNG. As it stands right now, the only boons i have seen are just "get a pitiful amount of honor back when you enter the bossroom" or "get a pitiful amount of water rarely." Its really boring. I want to see boons like "+20% attack, cast and movement speed" or "25% chance for enemies to explode on death" or "restore 1% honor on killing an enemy" or "You always critically strike". Things that you can actually look forward to, that can both be fun and rewarding to go after. In return, you will get less keys (because you went for the boons instead of keys) and then it becomes a balance between choosing more power or more rewards in each room.
