Trial of Sekhema MUST change or go away.
I think it'd be nice to get more positive buffs as we progress through the stages. The current system is more of a reversed-roguelike where the player gets weaker and weaker with only occasional boons that may or may not help you at all.
Get rid of the honour system, too. I don't see how it benefits players in any way other than forcing us to play in a certain play style. Another thing that is kind of weird in general is how you make bosses with mechanics, but we hardly have many chances to learn the fights. One death and you're out. This wouldn't be much of a problem if we didn't have to farm up the entry items before we get to retry, unlike actual roguelikes where you can just go back in right away after failing. Somehow they managed to come up with a roguelike mode that goes against most of the core features of what makes roguelikes fun and addicting lol. Regrettably, I refrain from engaging with nescient individuals who proffer fatuous commentary whilst concealing their profiles.

" Well apparently they don't expect most players to get all their ascendancy points, which is fine, but the reason really shouldn't be that the content in frustrating to engage with in a way that isn't rewarding to overcome. |

I am currently working on my dead eye and I gotta say trials are not only perfect but also they are fun too once u get the hang of it. I did my ascendancy at lvl 22, 42 and 66. Which was the area level of the trials. Working on 4th at lvl 79.
On my merc this was way more challenging however it was then that i realized it is fun too. Once i got over the fact that i have to do it and they are too long etc etc and i actually engaged with the mechanics of both trials of Sechema and Chaos i released I am having more fun than mapping. I now view them as perfect grounds for me to keep playing and sort the deficiencies of my build. It gives me all kinds of enemies without having to set up towers and what not. I strongly urge people to try, i want to do these trials attitude and forgo the i just want to get done with the trials attitude. It helped me a lot. I hope this helps. " The attitude comes from it gating ascendancy. I agree that I could enjoy them if I didn't feel like I had to do them. But I do "have to do them" if I want my ascendancy points. I could tell myself that isn't the case, but I'd rather not lie to myself. I could choose not to want my ascendancy points, but what's the point of that? I honestly don't mind Trials of the Sekhemas aside from the length, but Sanctum can literally just brick your run with RNG. That's not fun because the only lesson is "should have been luckier." Sekhema Trials can be balanced better to not shit on melee, but, honestly, a trial that was difficult in a consistent way would be significantly better as a gate for Ascension power. Do you even have to do both types?
While the optional quest guides you towards one and then the other I think you can get all ascendance in only chaos or sekhemas. Maybe even if you wait until you are high level you can do all 4 ascendancies points in one run. Going to test this whenever I want to play a new build. " The third ascendancy isn't a consumable it's in act 4. We are in EA. The game does 1, 2, and 3 from acts 2, 3 and 4 all different trails and the 4th any of the three but the last form of it. You can also run nothing but Trail of Sek or Chaos to get it but the easiest way for sure is to get he the quests in game via acts or just have someone carry you through the 4th trail to get all 8 points instantly. Dear GGG,
A piece of advise on Trial of Sekhema (but not limited to it). Number one: - Stop forcing people to do a niche content (and I think I'm being rather generous here not calling it total garbage) in order to progress with the character. What was great about POE1 was that there was a lot of different activities to pick from and depends on what is your preferred playstyle you could chose whatever suits you the most. I myself was a blight enjoyer but it would never come to my mind to turn POE2 into a freaking tower defence simulator and make everyone play it and this is sort of what you are doing here. Number two: - Stop turning an ARPG game into a souls-like, space pressing simulator combined with a clumsy demo edition of prince of persia. Seriously people who want to play an ARPG game will play a good ARPG if its fun. And if you want it to be more challenging remember that there are different ways to make a game more difficult without turning it into an elden ring wanabee. So please stop with this whole "rolling" obsession because there is a limited number of people that will find it enjoyable. Number three: - This one might be a little bit tricky and hard to grasp but hear me out. In this game (and legends says that it was also possible in POE1) there is an option to play as a melee character. And not only that you may even want to be a tank (a character designed to be able to take a lot of damage without dying) so you start stacking armour, health and all that goods stuff. Only to at some point realize that in order to get your ascendancy points you will have to now play a very long and tidious minigame of trying not to get hit by either range/AOE spamming mobs, range/AOE spamming bosses or range/AOE/DOT traps. If this is not what you call an insinity then quite frankly I don't know what is. Regards, Another player that is probably going to leave the game because of this |

Too hard, too long.
Challenging = Yes Fun = No Please leave the challenging content to the player who want challenge. Don't use it to block character's common progression. I'm Level 87 with max Honour resistance and still not able to get the 7-8 ascendency points. I have 6 usable keys to the trial in my stash but don't want to go in there anymore. I will just live with character without complete ascendency. It's that traumatized. Hope GGG is not designing this game just only for a group of highly skill, godly reflex and insane lucky player. Please leave some room for an old gamer like me to enjoy the game. |
