Game is dropping like a stone

i forget the exact amount but on xmas day POE2 had more peak players than any steam peak for any POE1 league ON DAY ONE in the games history and this is what week 3 or so now?

I probably agree with several points of the OP but just like the other thread, if you can't make your feedback known without skreeeeeeing about the falling sky I can't take your posts seriously enough to bother reading them. Especially when there's multiple of them cluttering up the first page obscuring honest feedback.

I would love to see the mods just delete threads with such obvious attention seeking polarization.
Pandering to players who don't want consequences for their mistakes is a perfect description of what went fundamentally wrong with D3 and 4.
If they wanted mindless mobile game time waster gameplay they sure did make some perplexing choices and marketing statements for 6 fucking years.
Yep early access game.
4th most played on steam. Basicly dead alredy. Maybe ggg should just give up?

The criticism(and feedback) by the OP is reasonable, but the player retention of PoE2 is higher than PoE1's since 2018's Bestiary League. It's very far from underperforming.
dead? WTF?

You are as helpful to the game as a random server ping spike. Come on, you are helping no one.

PoE2's performance(player retention) is already higher than most modern games, this includes PoE1 itself.

If you really want to "help" then make a dedicated forum post, instead of pitchforking gibberish.

Thank you for your contribution. Have a nice day.

And you're helping here how? Does GGG pay you to defend the game? Do you get gratification or ego boost attacking other posters who you disagree with?

Fanboism is one of the most laughable things one can witness on the Internet. Other people criticizing a half baked and very flawed commercial product seems to personally offend you. You probably think anyone who dares to voice negative opinion about an entertainment product on the Internet is a nobody loser who doesn't know what he's talking about, you do you, nobody is forcing you to change your opinion. Whether it's musicians, filmmakers, athletes, or even game developers, some pretend they're pefect flawless beings incapable of mistakes and immune to criticism. IRL far more successful people than Jonathan or Chris laugh at posts like yours, nobody at that level think like the fanboys, some of them have in fact been laughing with me but now want me to stop wasting my time. They also want me to stop playing a niche video game that few people outside the English speaking world have even heard of, and I also might, not that anybody cares. I'm sure the game will flourish just like WoW and d3 and d4 did, when top streamers, top ladder players, tons of people deep in endgame and tons of poe1 veterans are all pointing out flaws, whilst people like you are here being its staunchest defenders.

yes and if there isnt some massive change this game will be joining those in about 2 months ...

which would be "fine" if this product was on seasonal schedule and able to regain the engagement with the new season ... problem here is that the new content wont be releasing that soon nor the base to which the "new stuff" would be added to will have pull enough to make people run through it again

the game as is was supposed to have hundreds of hours of content to keep the player count relatively healthy for the long period the devs need to flesh out the rest of it, instead its behaving like 30-ish hour single player title that will be dead in the water by the time they get to adding in the basic components like the missing classes, ascendancies, hell even barebones stuff like weapon classes ...

and thats without the balancing needed to fix the core issues like armor and health being straight inferior to energy shield stacking which should be exactly other way around due health+armor being the defensive layer for melee class and ES supposed to be the stuff for pajama glass cannon ranged characters ... instead its the ones that need to go into melee and stuck with 2+ second long attack animations being made from tissue paper while ranged casters that one button anihiolate whole screens are at the same time 4x+ times more durable ...

yknow "small stuff"

Game is going great. Steam charts for EA are better than for many similar games on start (esp taking into account that standalone and consoles not included there).
I personally don't understand the soft hardcore mechanics introduced in maps.

Dying and losing xp, sure, kind of keeps you out of content that you're not supposed to do if you can't reliably level up doing said content.
Dying and losing xp and losing the map and losing the modifiers is insane. Especially with the RNG related to waystones dropping so sometimes you can be sent back way further if you run out of waystones just because you didn't get a drop. Losing the modifiers is crazy too, the modifiers like expeditions, breaches and bosses are what make endgame fun for me. If I have to go into an empty map and lose those really rare modifiers because I died to a oneshot mechanic with really bad dodge roll timings where dodge roll or 30k ES was the only way to avoid death? No thanks, I'll just do something else. Sadly there is nothing else in endgame for me to do, so I'll just play a different game until that changes.

The balance/difficulty curve is there to an extent but it fluctuates wildly depending on your build/class. Act 1 non-cruel could be the hardest part of the game for you, or the spike between Act 3 cruel not-Utzaal and Utzaal could be the biggest spike in the game.

Not playing meta builds just to have your build nerfed by proxy because of a broken meta build felt awful, then people telling you to play meta builds felt even more awful because it might get nerfed again and you don't have the currency to pivot to a different build.

The dodge roll mechanic being 'mandatory' also feels awful in it's current state. The timing of the rolls seems off for a lot of the big attacks or you're simply better off hugging the bosses ass (Hence, 'mandatory'). The passive tree seems to be all damage or ES. There are armor nodes but those don't exactly do anything impressive. The quality of gear you would need to have armor actually do something is far beyond any grinding I'm willing to do. There's basically no life nodes but there are a million energy shield nodes.

Campaign felt great, nothing particularly oneshot me that wasn't a mechanical/skill issue. The hitboxes for some of the bosses, especially colossus and that big skeleton boss in act 2, would grab me from seemingly too far and drag me around, sometimes teleporting me. Some random enemies would do this too where they get stuck in a weird hitbox and drag me a screens worth a distance away before stopping, all in a nanosecond where 90% of players won't have the reaction time to dodge out of the way. Delirium in maps has a similar issue where you get dragged by mobs that spawn out of the little blue patches, but I'm unsure if this is intended or not as it is definitely not the same distance as the example earlier.

That being said, game is in early access, I have hope that many of these things get addressed, or at least one of them so that endgame actually feels fun to do. We have six months of EA that was announced, a month has almost rolled over and the last patch had some good ideas behind the changes at leas so I'm hopeful. I don't understand the hesitation for bigger changes since it is a different league from standard when the game comes out. Could have more large changes without impacting the game as a whole as I'm pretty sure most people will switch to actual standard when it comes out.

This is not a 'waaaa, my game too hard, me big baby' kind of complaint people seem to think these are, but rather, feedback to make the game enjoyable and to give GGG another post about what players like and what they don't like.

TDLR: Endgame balance/design is not good, have time to fix issues but current state makes me not want to play.
