Game is dropping like a stone
Would be useful with some examples or facts. Instead of blanket statements and your opinion that its not normal.
Poe2 has great player retention so far. Especially if you take into account that alot of people are on holiday and playing less or not at all. Its early access and the foundation of the game is great and the changes ggg has made so fsr have been swift and on point. Ofc there are more changes needed and they need to add more content which they obviously will | |
" But again it's early access. I think they really were rushing to just get the game out. And the safest and fastest path was for them to just shove in everything as it was before and tune the game around that. I hope moving forward that they don't simply try to fix things as is, because we are fast seeing things like Magic Find, just don't make the game better. It's as if they added all the worst item mods and removed all the items that make hte game intersting. Difficulty scaling, and rewards are also fubar. Trade is decimating the economy and game flow. But those initial numbers and how much players WERE enjoying the game shows them the potential. Hoping they take the right lessons from this. If they balance around fun, and tune itemization for what makes the best game, they can have a genre defining game with a cash cow to last another decade. But if they choose to double down on all these boring tropes, if they play it too safe, people are going to get fed up and leave. |

" Your irony doesn't refute the fact that the game has already lost 60% of the players it had at launch. (Which is still a much smaller number than Diablo 4 had at launch. 2.5m players) The more time passes, and more people reach the endgame, the more and more people will abandon the game until there is a minority of maybe 4-5 thousand people left. On the Brazilian server, I have seen the same 11-10 people in the chat only. |

End game terrible systems are killing the game

" Everyone who was farming high maps know that. Only those D4 refuges in acts refuse this fact. On Probation Any%

" Quite remarkable that a person that's been dallying with POE for a decade would rather make fun of another player concerned for the future of the succeeding title, then engage in the actual arguments. Not only that, you are pushing words into my mouth. I didn't argue for an auction house. I didn't argue for the crafting like in POE1. I didn't argue for "a well rounded endgame". YOU made those things up. Firstly most of these problems could and should have been dealt with before the release of the game, since taking a tiny bit of time to contend with feedback from POE1 leagues and problems would have told them this was all going to happen. Endgame only needed more access and better rewards to push more people further into it. You know -to actually PLAYTEST said endgame in early access, rather than gatekeep it like crazy? I'm sure you find yourselves amazingly witty and fun. Unfortunately what you are doing is undermining the very feedback that is needed to make sure we do get a worthy successor in your attempt of said humor. Find some other forum to be a snarky, condescending idiot in. |

I'm not going to say the game has no issues because obviously it has some rough edges that need sorting out as an EA title, but... Dropping like a stone? Its peak right before Christmas was 420k. Obviously we're going to see a substantial drop while people are dealing with their family instead of playing games.

" I gave examples -and facts. If you bothered CHECKING rather than ranting off nonsense you would have known. No it doesn't. The retention is abhorrent. Also, people do not play less video games over the xmas, they play more. IF you think the game is so great already, let me know what class and build you are playing, and how far you have come, and how many hours you have played that character. Experience of the game is not uniform. |

" I mean basic statistical understanding is all you need to have to see how untrue your statement is. It's dropped about 150k on averaged median curve BEFORE going into xmas. Educate yourself on statistics and trajectories, and averages over time through comparable time markers. |

" So in other words over 2 weeks and some change PoE2 has a retention rate of ~75%. That seems pretty good, especially for a game that's still in EA with only half the campaign, classes, weapons, and skills released. On top of it still being holiday season and all the preparation that happens for that. Seems to be in a similar trend with Marvel Rivals which seems to be another success that came out recently. |
