Warbringer Shockwave Totems: 300k+ dps mapping / 450k+bossing. Easy T16s & Bossing. (Videos)

Hello! I am currently changing my warbringer to this build, but I'm having trouble scaling my damage. Is it purely based on the melee skill levels or is there something else that scales dps? It feels like I'm missing something fundamental, and I had the same issue when I tried to use the armor explosion build, I couldn't get my damage high at all. Level 78 warrior, 8/8 ascendency, only like 7k dps on my totems. When I tried armor explosion my mace strike was 8k dps. Any idea what I'm screwing up?
I'm lvling a gemling, lvl49 4k DPS per totem, with +9, not invested more than 2ex for each piece of gear.

DPS is coming mostly from levels, but with 3*7k, mapping should be comfortable, but +6 weapons should be damn cheap

Shockwave totem damage scales mostly by gem Level and anoint so here is your checklist:

Level 18 gem or better
+7 2h mace (x2)
+2 Gloves
+3 Amulet
Anoint Initiative

Double check gems:
Shockwave totem (Quality to 20)
Brutality
Martial Tempo
Inspiration
Life Bounty (Trade for conc effect when bossing)
Overabundance

If you have those and haven't ignored the damage nodes I suggest on the skill tree you ought to be pretty close.

Let me know if you are still having problems and I will try to diagnose for you further. Added damage scaling checklist to the FAQ.

In happy-making news, today's patch fixed the gem corruption bug. The +1 gem level now actually applies power to the build (and increases the totem cost to 791 each with inspiration) I have verified that Shockwave totem is hard-capped at level 40, which I have finally reached. Mapping dps with all totems up is now approx 320k. Bossing dps (with conc effect) approx 456k.

An amazing guide for a Warrior Totem build! I think I will give it a try in SSF myself.

Regarding the super huge cost per cast, instead of Blood Magic or Lifetap, have you tried mitigating the cost with Life of Freedom (and x3 Life Costs)? In total, you will pay 38% of the cost, after 10% reduced mana cost, with your health. But it enables you to utilize both health and mana flask.

Also, for sustaining your flask usage in a boss fight, have you ever tried Alchemist Boon? A low level one, ofc.

Since my idea is still on a drawing board, not on an actual field, feel free to correct me!

I did use price of freedom early on in the build. There came a point, for me, where even with the reduced cost I was finding it difficult to maintain enough mana and also keep my life topped up. I believe you would still need to make a substantial investment in mana to make this work well, and would probably also want to invest in life regen so that you wouldn't have to constantly hit your life flask anyway. It is also one more button to keep track of during combat. Blood magic also has some small advantages in terms of pathing--allows for the easy pickup of another jewel socket and +2 extra max cold resist. After experimenting with both, I prefer the gameplay provided by going blood magic. That said, this is one that may be a matter of taste--try out price of freedom for yourself, try out blood magic, see which one you prefer and let us know. Respeccing is relatively cheap.

As to Alchemist's boon, I don't think this is a bad idea to swap in for bossing if you have the dex. The problem is the 133 minimum dex requirement. If you are able to reach that without sacrificing too much in other places on the build, this could be a viable idea--please let us know what you think of it if you end up testing it out.

Hoping you enjoy the build in ssf!
