A plee to tone down the nudity

There are other major cultures and religions around the world who frown on public nudity, you know. It's not just North American Christians.

So, is it the chains that bother you?

I do find the chains to be unnecessary and I can see how people would find it somewhat offensive. The two "nymphs" holding the globes are otherwise depicted in a very tasteful way. It's pretty and I hope it stays, but I will admit I wouldn't mind seeing the chains go.

I wouldn't be surprised this is the real issue here.

DO a image search on google for "woman statue" and you can see lots of greek style status of women sometimes naked top to bottom, with Safe Search enabled. Nothing offensive.

However do another safe image search on "woman chains" and the results are potentially much more offensive and are much more consistently suggesting themes of domination and/or submission.

Solution: replace the chains with something less offensive like vines. The one on the right could have her palm facing the orb as if supporting it instead of looking as if she can't escape...

Ima try to be a little serious despite that. Yes we want a perfect world, that is ideal. We want everything to be equall and perfect but perfection is mere distinguish of unperfection which means we can't have it unless we got garbage as well. Everyone is born differently and I think everyone has their own ``talent`` whether it is brains for math/Social studies/physics or a body shaped beautifully, maybe athletic gens but these will never be argued as equalls because they simply are too diverse and on completely different paths.. Therefore facing reality is simply better, wishing is simply a waste of time utterly futile. This might be a far to broad answer but the fundamentals are the same. Subjectivity is meh.

Whatever the 'talent', we need to treat eachother with respect. Otherwise we'll have endless war.

I might seem flung up on my high horses, but I don't expect any individual to solve these problems, this will be resolved by the world.
If you've been following contemporary discussion, feminism is the amongst the most heavily debated subjects across the globe.
It's not feasible to have a dinosaur position on this, you'll regret it.

Sexism is just as bad as racism, which I hope you detest. Some might say it's worse.
It's also incredibly stupid to bind the ones you love with chains of expectation.


You might believe that sexism makes you more male or someone else more female. That's pure illusion and if you think about it, you know that.

On a sidenote and a reference to this "reality" everyone knows so much about.
I met a friend yesterday when I was walking around. He told me his wife lost her child in birth. True tragedy. My eyes water when I write it. It's not that we're close, it's just such a tremendous blow.
These things happen all the time, everywhere.
We should take care of each other, there's plenty of pain, sorrow, despair, madness and depravity to go around.

I guess, the things are perfectly fine with content and you don't see almost any problem with all that action out there. It's like looking for Easter Egg for me.

I don't have a problem with content, and to hell with this sugesstion, since it's simply stupid and crushing the game lore.

There is ONE thing, and it did in fact come to mind as I was playing, but I didn't think of it too much.

The fact that the women holding the health and mana globes are chained IS somewhat demeaning, and has unfortunate associations with unsavoury themes...

The OP said "nudity" but I'm sure this is the main "offensive" bit in the graphics.

I think GGG should listen to their guts on this one. There's always going to be some people in the audience who won't like the show. In show biz, you just have to let them go, and entertain the ones who are still interested.

I think GGG should make whatever they will find interesting, as the years come and go. They said they want to support this game for at least a decade. If the game turned into something they didn't want in the first place, I'd hate for them to get bored and think of this as a chore.

This is a mature game, aimed at mature people. There is no langauge filter in the chat (yet, hopefully ever), things die in gory ways and yes, we have dead babies or maybe dead baby dolls. Your pick.

I'll be utterly honest: I didn't even notice the chained up, naked women around the globes. My girlfriend had to point them out, and even then it was to admire the artwork. She's a graphic designer with some experience in art history, so I doubt a few granite boobs and chains are going to bother her.

To me, these images are utterly within the sphere of the genre's aesthetics: dark, gritty fantasy. Our world might not tolerate women in chains but for all we know, Oriath or the former glory of Wraelcast were total patriarchies in which such practices were common. The key word, of course, is fantasy. GGG aren't making some sort of sweeping social commentary here, because if they are, I think we should start with the fact that we're killing *everything in sight* just to get goodies. Oh, and the dead babies.

As much as I respect the rights for everyone to have their own worldviews and opinions, I don't think this is the correct arena for a gender studies-fueled battle either. The very worst proponents of any belief system or philosophical movement have a tendency to make everything about their beliefs, and I've so little love for such zealots.

If this can't remain civil, it won't remain at all.

My attention was drawn to this thread by someone who feels the same way. I can't even begin to pretend to be happy about it.
