A plee to tone down the nudity
the only thing that would come close to nudity would be the corpses with rags over them and maybe the health/mana statues.
you're overreacting to something no normal person would have a problem with. like someone said before, you dont have a problem with the blood/gore but the subtle hints at nudity, which really says something about a person ;) imo the game is fine, if they wanted to they could add a blood/gore option to enable said features or turn them off is people are getting wet pants, but as it is there is nothing wrong with the implied sexual stuff (not that there is any). |

"Yes, it says that person has different views than you do. Nothing more. People are different. In many parts of the world, people are exposed to violence before sex, and more often. I'm also not sure why there needs to be a link between violence and sex, or why they should be directly comparable. To make a link between the two says something about a person, as well. My personal views on sex are very different from what media says they should be, but my views on violence are fine with this game. I have no issues at all massacring people in video games (usually because they're the bad guys, but also because I know it's just a game), but I don't see the point in unnecessary sexuality. The violence is a core aspect of the game. The sex isn't, unless you're playing Custer's Revenge or some other porn simulation. For the most part, games that include such things do it for the sake of appealing to young gamers, not for creating an enveloping story. It's no different than typical game/anime girls. They're not shaped like that for any reason other than attracting young men, and some creepy old guys. Unfortunately, sex does sell. I think PoE is fine on the nudity scale. It's not blatant and overdone. The globe girls are done artistically and tastefully. Merveil's clothing situation fits her purpose in the story: she's a siren that attracts men with her illusion of beauty. She would, of course, use all of her assets to accomplish this. All the other female characters are clothed appropriately. Closed Beta/Alpha Tester back after a 10-year hiatus.

Agreed, I find Merveil to be very intimidating and powerful.
She's large and threatening as a warrior, seemingly the illusion/transformation/spell is bent towards power rather than trickery, in that occassion. I too, digress from any offensive nudity contained within the game. I just made a point, since the thread was leaning heavily against its OP and there were an important one to be made. Surely most agree, there's no need to be vulgar or needlessly connect violence and sex. P.S. Make a crone instead of a kid and a hardened, weather-beaten tracker instead of a dancer. D.S. +That's just my opinion, the work is fine, with trimming. |

Ok, less confrontational hopefully...
" In Eastern thought the philosopher might have approached like this: "Man doesn't know himself without woman. Woman doesn't know herself without man". Think about it. If life made us unisex or have both reproductive organs, there would be no male/female humans (as is the case for some specis). In that case what would "man" mean? What would "woman" mean? So where do man and woman exist in reality other than for biological differences? In thought, in collective drama, passed from generation to generation because we refuse to let it go. So we perpetuate involuntarily by bringing up these topics again and again. We are unwillingly reinforcing that which we want to go away... |

Girls and guys are very different.
We do complete eachother. It's not going away because we respect and take care of each other as dignified entitys should. Rather, it will strengthen our differances when we can be ourselves without the need to adhere to cultural and traditional conformity. We all want to be free and we are basically entitys. Female or male is branching from that. Restricting entitys into whatever shape it's beholder wishes, is wrong and abusive. It's the existance solemn right to define itself. |

I really don't care about the nudity one way or another. To me it's just in the peripheral of things, I see it but do not really recognize it as an important part of the game.
.....And that's all I have to say about that.

"I think that you should take a look into the mirror and ask yourself some questions. "Curiously you switched positions. Exactly what are you trying to write? Anyhow, it was just published, here. Make whatever you want from it. "Now I see what you were trying to write. I'm not the one trying for control. Thanks for showing how you think about this. It makes a vivid example. Perhaps it's you thats mad and need to contemplate who you are and what you are doing? |

" I was going to reply decently but after reading through your posts a few times, 100% troll. Ima try to be a little serious despite that. Yes we want a perfect world, that is ideal. We want everything to be equall and perfect but perfection is mere distinguish of unperfection which means we can't have it unless we got garbage as well. Everyone is born differently and I think everyone has their own ``talent`` whether it is brains for math/Social studies/physics or a body shaped beautifully, maybe athletic gens but these will never be argued as equalls because they simply are too diverse and on completely different paths.. Therefore facing reality is simply better, wishing is simply a waste of time utterly futile. This might be a far to broad answer but the fundamentals are the same. Subjectivity is meh. And the part where you are talking about games not having versitile figures for females I highly agree on, but rest of your jabber strikes me as unrealistic and a plea of something impossible. " OP here. And no, I'm not sitting on my "seat" as you view me snickering at replies to an obviously very controversial issue. I know my opinion wouldn't be the popular one but that will never stop me from making it. To answer other posters I don't live under a rock and know very well what society has decided about sexuality, I live in Las Vegas, where the billboards make POE look like Bible camp. And yes I do try to avoid it and that's my prerogative. As well, I do draw a very clear distinction between gore and sexually because I feel they affect me differently. Just because I watch Gladiator doesn't mean Im gonna rent Backdoor Ninjas 3. The main issue was the orb girls, its part of the interface, not fleeting, can't be avoided. I appreciate those who responded constructively even if they disagreed. For all the "yay boobs" people, we disagree, but those made me laugh lol. For those who are upset, I hope you know I value your opinions but have my own, hope we can still be friends. Ended up putting two pieces of paper over the orb girls haha, custom sensor :) Seriously!? Yes, seriously. That's just who I am. Thank you for all the input and I hope to see you in game :) |
