POE 1 is litterally, in my opinion, the best video game ever made.

I'm not trying to "make it poe 1". It's not about what you saw on youtube. It's not about my build or your build or anyone's specific build.

It's about the design philosophy. I get that 90% of people's engagement with video games is just watching sprites on the screen turn into other sprites on the screen and copy+pasting builds but I like complex and deep game design.

50 different skills that are all just variations of "do big hit" with different animations is not complex or deep game design.

If we don't like it, leave some feedback and walk away. GGG cares about only a few things: artistic vision, feedback, and player numbers. We have power over two out of those three.

Personally, I was fine with this being toned down. However, it's been taken from just strong (Cast on Freeze) to completely unplayable. I can't speak for others, but I don't have time to re-roll another character right now, so it's better to just sit this one out.

We all want PoE2 to succeed, and support GGG experimenting with big changes -especially during EA. So don't freak out. Just leave constructive feedback, then decide if you want to play this iteration.



Cast on Shock was just a playable build. It wasn't that crazy. I have no idea what to even re-roll because all I see are boring skills that you just selfcast to deal hit damage and that's it. We also have boring skills you selfcast to deal some dot damage based on hit damage. Wow. Riveting game design.

This is the culmination of a graphics update, combined with multiple of PoE1 worst received gameplay designs.

They have already tried these things in PoE1 and already know it's hated. This is only devs being stubborn.
I did a cast on freeze using ice strike. Nowhere as fast as other ignite or freeze such as those using frostbolt, minions or whatever.

This patch made it unplayble. I was able to proc ONE comet every 4 packs of monsters. My autoattack does more damage at the fraction of the time.

The last giganerf I seen was when they nerf storm brand of indecision. A whopping 66% damage nerf was consider huge at the time. The difference is that the build was still viable somewhat.

The one we got this patch made it entirely worthless. Might as well add a 5 second cooldown to the skill and get the same result.

I happen to agree with their philosophy.
Of course people whined in PoE1 have you ever heard a happy person when it comes to nerfs outside of PvP games?
Very rarely do I see players who make measured statements and support nerfs to keep a game consistently challenging.
Typically the arguments I see is "you should just buff everything else" which just leads to making mobs do 1 shots and we get rocket tag...
The nerf was called for, but definitely way overboard. Overperforming builds should go from overperforming to balanced, not from overperforming to useless. "Cast on x" should now be called "Cast on 20 x's"
i dont rly understand why GGG killed COC. So its not weak now its DEAD. What a reason you ruin 30% builds? It was good builds but its not OP like Flurry monk/deadeye or minion builds. So if you wanna nerf it get like 40% damage on COC but dont make it not work at all.
Also if i do new interesting build its gonna nerf again. What a point to play? Autoattack mobs or play deadeye like retard?

Yes, we all feel you.

I can't speak for anything but Sorc Chronomancer, but truthfully Cast on Freeze wasn't the most OP thing in the build. Ice Wall was becoming a progressively larger part of my damage in boss fights and versus strong rare monsters. By the end it was near 70%. I wasn't even to end game yet, but it was obvious Ice Wall would be completely broken with a 5-link.

All this doesn't bode well for the PoE2 dev team's thought process -hope we're proven wrong.

This is such a weird take because the fun thing about these games is hitting buttons that kill monsters. Complaining about having to hit buttons to kill monsters is insane.
