i love you guys dearly, i have a billion hours in the first game, i am begging you to make this one feel more like that and less like an rl1 naked elden ring run. just make the hp on the mobs into something that feels like i'm hitting them with weapons and not soggy bread, please.
like, i have a character now that is level 15 in a level 14 area using a crossbow that was very powerful at level 10, and is now, twenty minutes later, absolute trash to the point where it takes minutes to kill a rare+minions. i don't want to have to play an op leveling build that i don't enjoy or spend a half hour trading just to progress another hour. better loot is very welcome but the base mob stats are just pointlessly unbalanced in the campaign for no clear reason except to make things take longer. it's 0% harder but takes 500% longer. i'm not dying more than poe1, i just progress at a fraction of the pace. i do really like the engine changes and better boss design, though (except for invincibility phases, of course). if the game didn't feel artificially elongated i'd be having a great time. i don't mind hard games, but the hardness needs to come from the design and not just making the numbers worse for the player. |

Bloody awesome week one update
The only thing missing would be (especially for controller use) a bind to target lock |

Awesome changes, I'm at act 3 now and game becomes much more interesting becouse of normal loot drops. It's like a breath of fresh air after long and empty act 2 with "die - run from checkpoint - get nothing" location. Thanks for fast changes and for poe 2 =)

"While it is intended that monsters are able to trap and kill you" get your head out of your ass, this isn't fun.

No mention of the widespread, game breaking, hard crashing locking up people's PCs forcing us to shut down over and over using the power button? This is a serious issue causing damage to people's expensive computers. Where's the transparency? How are you seriously trying to gaslight us like that right now GGG? It's really starting to leave a sour taste in the mouth of the community.

I'm sure it has been reported already, but I feel like the trials (specifically, the 3rd and 4th ascensions) are a bit over-tuned. Ultimatum, and Sanctum are for some of the most geared characters and the mods sometimes seem more than unfavorable when you do not have gear yet. Some monsters in sanctum just remove way too much honour way too quickly, and with a lot of screen clutter with spell animations it can be hard to see some monsters. These mods carried over from PoE1 are just too penalizing for fresh PoE2 characters (at least for just trying to get your ascendancy complete, but for end game sure go ahead and scale too the moon, have at it). Can you take a look at the difficulty in these for ascension purposes to determine if these should be scaled back some?
Another thing I would like to give feedback on is minions and how they interact with small pass-throughs, doorways, bridges, alleys etc (considering a lot of the maps have tiny pass-throughs, it can feel horrible with minion builds). They will just block themselves and cannot get through, which makes it quite hard to move forward on a map because you have to distance yourself then from your minions, just so that they will die and respawn in 8 seconds, while your character is now in the face of mobs attacking you and you have to spam dodge roll until your minions come back. This is also quite difficult when starting new areas in Ultimatum with the elevator and your minions are stuck at the top, but you are forced to move down to start the encounter, left defenseless at the start. Perhaps making minions size 0 as well might fix this? Or instead of the minions dying and having to respawn if they distance away from you, can they just be teleported to your location instead in these instances? Thanks if you read this! | |
These are all great steps to make the game feel much better it already feels great but i’m still in act 3 so haven’t felt the mapping problems yet and it looks like i won’t have to! I genuinely like the monsters being able to surround us it makes me so much more aware of my positioning it was only frustrating in a few places early and especially those beetles but I figured out how to position and didn’t get stuck once on the dreadnaught. GG GGG this is phenomenal so far!
