POE 2 HAS A MAJOR LOOT ISSUE FOR SOME PLAYERS

1000% agree. I kill every rare spawn i can see and never get gear for my class or if i do it isnt an upgrade. I have 5 toons stuck at act 2 boss cause i cant get better loot. Most of my gear is from first 10 levels. Ive had 7 uniques drop, all trash. My ranger hasnt had a skill gem drop in 7 levels. Multiple boss runs get me all blues, im not sure what im supposed to do to get better. I try to play other toons hoping i get gear on them i can use for the toon i want to play, my ranger, but no luck. Instead im stuck playing games that came out 10 yrs ago since new games are mostly trash, not sure who theyre designed for anymore but doesnt seem like me

I am full kitted in decent rares of my level in act 3, some crafted, some bought, some dropped. This is before the patch.

Stop rushing through the game trying to force maps like it's poe1 and try actually playing the game and enjoying it.

"some bought" that's the key there lol. trade is cheating. I agree with the premise of this thread and you are wrong. I also, say the game has terrible drops. I fully clear each and every room. I've done it now on 4 toons. It's the same on each, terrible loot that makes you want to just walk away.

Using a central pillar of the game's design is cheating?

Ok, you better stop using your skills then, that's cheating bro.
Loot?

This game has loot?

Well, I was expecting it to be just like PoE 1 but they didn't have to make it almost exactly the same.
I fully agree but it's worse than just the loot. With a "crafting system" (and I use that term VERY loosely) it wouldn't be so bad but like I said, loosely, it's more a gambling machine than a crafting system. drop a nickel in it and hope for the best so even if the game was giving bad loot, you can't even fall back to crafting.

white drops are just absolute garbage cause run them through the RNG slot machine, you'll never get the stats you actually need so those are garbage.

Blues are equally bad cause they already have garbage stats on them so your left with running them through a more expensive slot machine for even more stats you don't want.

The yellow and above is just a continuation of the blues, even more garbage stats...

Of course you can melt them down but now your getting mini garbage that if you get enough of, you get one of their garbage coins for their garbage gambling *clears throat "crafting" system....

Just all around a bad design......

I can't believe I am saying this but I miss metacrafting in poe1.

Fractured, orbs of scouring and an actual crafting bench with reliable suffixes made crafting bearable. In poe2 it's utter garbage slot machine.
If it's not broken, don't fix it.
This game does not drop loot. In easy mode you BUY the loot from the trading website. In SSF you GAMBLE with the "crafting" system.

I like trading, however if you're essentially forced into it so that you don't have to slog through the campaign, then there's an inherent problem with loot. The fact you have to consider trading during CAMPAIGN is a problem in and of itself. I wouldn't make an argument if you started trading during maps/end-game to make it farther, but you should not feel the need to trade or interact with trade until after campaign. I do understand however that cruel isn't going to be here during launch, so its possible this will be improved during launch. You obviously can trade to make your game easier, but you shouldn't ever feel the need to during campaign. I have friends who played and felt forced into it after beating acts 1-3, because they didn't realize how penalizing the resistances were in cruel and it almost demoralized them into quitting, I had to feed them gear myself. I don't think people realize how little players actually want to trade during campaign, it feels more annoying than anything
Definitely. What's even more frustrating is that crafting is entirely RNG-based. In POE, you could craft your items exactly how you wanted, but that's not the case here.
I feel that this would be less of an issue if crafting was an actual thing.

A combination of a few factors are compounding and making loot feel awful across the board.

So you resort to buying items. I thought I got a ARPG and not a trading game!
