Which type of player is POE 2 for?

GGG, do a follow up video and be very honest, please explain the type of player this is for and how many do you think there are of that type? You should have understood from Ruthless that hardly anyone played it because of the scarcity, so why did you think the general public would like it?

This is supposed to be an action RPG. What happened to "action" and loot systems?

I think Blizzard and Diablo 4 are safe. I don't think the game is for that casual crowd, or any other casual crowd. You can't be a casual to play POE2. The systems and gameplay loop is a disaster for me. I do not look forward to the next area, certainly dread the next boss. I am exhausted! That is not what a game is supposed to be for anybody. I feel so miserable.

No loot. What does drop is utter garbage. Where is the thrill, the pull to find more loot. There isn't any.

No joy in killing mobs. They are far too tanky, character is far too slow. No "tinks" of loot drop joy.

Dread facing a zone boss. Its the feeling of and knowing it is going to take ages and if you fail, then you have to start all over again.

This is not an "action" rpg. It is a new genre that should never see the light of day.

I'm halfway through Act 2, round 1. I don't want to continue. And I don't give up that easy. I have several level 100 characters in POE1, I know what a grind is. At least in POE1 its fun.

It's for players that want a meaningful and challenging ARPG experience. For players that want to see their decisions have impact on gameplay from the very start, not just at endgame. It's for players that don't measure their progress in currency per hour until they can obtain a belt that trivializes the game. For players that feel rewarded for their progress and look forward to the next challenge. That's my opinion after 2 days.

You enjoy feeling weak every fight? I know many Souls-like player enjoy that masochistic approach, and maybe you guys are bigger in numbers than the ones that like to feel powerful in an ARPG. I guess we'll see how the demographic evolves in the future.

And you feel rewarded? After a fight? I don't know if I even feel relief after a bossfight, I'm just happy the rolling around like a prick with an attack inbetween now and then is over for a minute.

I don't feel like my gem choices matter.
I don't feel like my passives choices matter.
I don't feel like my gear getting lucky to fit what I want to play matters.
I don't feel like dodge rolling works or is better than travel skills.

This game is as frustrating as it is fun, and by that I mean its A LOT, but you remember the lows a lot more than the highs, and thats a bad state for the game.

Bad news for you.

If your gear, choices or skills make you powerful, it will nullify the "mechanics" and you can skip bosses, which tends to be Poe1 and not in line with the vision.

So even if they give you loads of loot, not feeling powerful no matter what you do is the intended design.

BTW I did predict poe2 and poe1 are fundamentally contradictions. People were just blinded by the hype.
I don't know for who this game is but as a PoE1 player, it's not for me...
Just waiting PoE1 new season to leave this game...
Its not for braindead PoE1 players that think game is good when you can just hold RMB for few seconds to complete a map. For everyone else its fine.
Casual PoE is for me
it looks like it's for the softcore player ;)

im still going hardcore for now but it's not super enjoyable lol

*the slow pace is probably more acceptable if you dont risk having to start over everyday heh

You can thank the braindead PoE1 players who supported GGG for 10 years to have a PoE2...
Pathetic clown...
