Continuous Stuttering/Lag Despite Stable FPS and Internet in PoE 2 Early Access
This is most definitely PoE's server that's causing the lag because it only happens during peak times and just stops later in the night or early morning. Also PoE1 is lagging the same way which I've never had to deal with before.

Still nothing from GGG? I always like when issues go ignored. But hey, very positive reviews on steam.

Toggling on both Foreground and Background FPS cap has seemed to work, i have all my fps targets set to 120, YMMV and it could just be that i got lucky while playing

bump. was no issues this morning... then about 1 hour ago it starts up and likely going to last for next 3-4 hours. Just ruins the gaming experience. Happy to work with anyone at GGG to isolate.

Today it was particularly laggy. Several times the stutter was so bad the sound effects would briefly pause, and I had an instance where everything froze for 6 seconds then my character suddenly darted to the other end of the room.

I had a weird incident just now in a map, from the moment i entered my latency was yoyoing. Then as soon as I killed 1 specific rare mob which i didnt see what the mods were it immediately shot back to steady 30ms

I’ve been experiencing stuttering since day one, which has made the game unplayable.
I tried everything for days, following all the various tips from this forum and other users on different social platforms/forums. I've literally tried EVERYTHING. After a week, I found the solution: IP address assignment. To clarify, I use a Wi-Fi connection without an Ethernet cable at the moment. As an additional test to solve the issue after literally trying everything, I connected via a mobile phone hotspot, and—like magic—the stuttering was completely eliminated. I was nearly brought to tears of joy after a week of fruitless attempts. Since I have a router with dynamic IP assignment (DHCP), turning the router off and on again allowed me to reconnect my PC via Wi-Fi without any further issues. Unfortunately, I cannot explain why there’s this correlation, nor could I pinpoint the underlying technical process causing it, but it worked. I hope this can help resolve the issue for as many people as possible while waiting for GGG to address this problem. Please let me know if this can help you, so GGG have a major clue about it. Thank you. |

And another night of unplayable lag. Bump.

If you play on steam, then turn on the overlay. There's some weird thing happening with it disabled and it causes the game to stutter like half an hour into a session.
If you have actualy latency issues then switch to a diff server until it goes away. I switch between 3 different servers (frankfurt, milan, amsterdam) when I get unplayable laggspikes on one of them. Last edited by krenderke#3861 on Dec 16, 2024, 9:32:58 PM
