Continuous Stuttering/Lag Despite Stable FPS and Internet in PoE 2 Early Access
Just adding a plus one.
Played ~5hrs over the last few days in solo and co-op with no problem. Got to Freythorn about half an hour ago when playing with a friend and got clustered lagspikes every 15-20 seconds. I'd be stable on ~30ms and then it'd shoot up into the triple digits and the game would freeze. My friend wasn't having any of those problems. Did a couple of connections stability tests afterwards and there didn't seem to be anything wrong at my end. |

Greatings.
Canada server is lagging. Provider - Rogers. Speed 1Gbit. The same had been with POE1. Please, address that issue. Thanks a million. |

Exactly this should be a known problem at GGG.
His been haunting POE 1 forever. At some point they implemented a setting lockstep (lag is not moving) and predictive (keep moving during lag and correction after). Can believe this horrible bug is still here. Even with everything on low it doesn't go away. Tried Vulkan instead of DX12 but no change. The scaling setting from NIS to Bilinear with set to no scaling seems a little better. |

I accidentally found a workaroud for windows:
- open network settings in control panel - network connections - right click -> properties -> configure -> advanced - "802.11a/b/g Wireless Mode, then choose "2. 2.4Ghz.80211b" (it was "6. Dual Band 802.11a/b/g") I don't know why but the network lags disappeared. |

Found a fix.
Using 4080 Super. AMD Ryzen 9. I was having all the same stuttering issues. This game was not running well on Wi-Fi, despite having no issues with any other game. I connected directly to my modem and all the stuttering went away. |

I'm already on ethernet, but I live in country side and I don't have any internet infrastructure so the only way to connect to internet is RadioLink here.
I know the lag is expected but while I'm able to play fast pacing FPS games without and issue why I can't play solo PoE2? I can't understand. So it seems like before GGG release the new connection mode like in PoE1, fixing your internet is the only way to play if you experience shuttering. Yesterday everything was fine but now I get constant stutters no matter which settings I'm using and my ping is stable 40-70, but stuttering occur every ~2 sec even during char selection.

Should we copy this thread into the Early Access bug reports section? I’m not sure they’re activity checking this one.

Hello there,
I had similar problem. What helped me was unchecking the multithreading option in Graphics tab (Graphics->Advanced Settings->Engine Multithreading). The lag is noticable less problematic but now performance is significantly worse. However I was able to defeat Act1 boss, so the game is now playable even if not comfortable . I will investigate further. Please let us all know if this solution helps. |
