Continuous Stuttering/Lag Despite Stable FPS and Internet in PoE 2 Early Access
Litterly loosing all faith in this game when playing breach or delurium.
Some maps are decent while some are litterly almost unplayable and I run any game on Ultra settings with constant 100+ fps but In this I drop even under 30 when I spawn lots of monsters like In breach.. |

Still getting network surging every few seconds after the patch. I go from 30-50ms all the way to several hundred. Repeat every few seconds, all the time.
Opening a new instance during the campaign can sometimes help. Playing off hours helps. It is not a problem that is on my end. |

After the patch, my bomb minion witch became unplayable. As soon as the minions start casting, the fps drops to around 30... no fun for me.

I literally have a top end PC ( not joking it is a work/gaming PC that cost 6k$) with a 4090 that I started using mid December. AT this point, the game is unplayable due to network spikes. I think it is a driver or programing/patch problem because I played the first 3 weeks on my far less powerful PC and experienced frame drops but the without the network issues. The framedrops on a lesser PC were far more manageable than the constant network spikes I am experiencing on an increasing basis. I get spikes every 10 seconds and every other spike causes a straight up pause in gameplay. I already had many issues with POE2 especially as a casual player; with these lag spikes I am done for the near furture.

Was smooth as butter when the patch launched, then all the sudden about 2 hours ago, same stuff. 20ms -> 300ms -> 20ms -> 300ms etc. etc. The game is literally unplayable with stuttering every second, and I fear doing breaches or bosses because of the immense stuttering. I'm glad I'm not the only one but come on GGG this has been a problem since launch. Guess back to WoW until this gets fixed. I really want to play this game, but the risk is too great to die at the level I am at.

So this is strange. I switched to my crappy hotspot on my phone and ran a map with zero issues. I get back on my home wifi that's 1gig down and the stuttering returns. Why would that be?
EDIT: Ok, so I changed my wifi settings around and actually fixed the stuttering. " This for some reason worked for me. I don't know if it will work for everyone, but whatever is causing the issue should probably still be looked into by GGG. Last edited by Teryaki123#3757 on Jan 17, 2025, 2:01:53 AM

" I found the same, mate. Was good all morning for me since patch launched. Just tried jumping back in again and I'm copping the full on latency spikes and full lock. |

GGG... can we get a response here? Over 120 pages of people experiencing absolute game breaking stuff and we haven't heard anything. Even a simple acknowledgement would be amazing at this point.

Seems like many people have also been having this issue. Finally fixed after a month of tweaking settings, reinstalling the game, drivers, updates etc. Windows 24H2 power management is causing all the shader problems, simply adding an exception to the graphics settings for PathOfExileSteam worked. (this list in is system > graphics) Seems windows newest update is setting Poe 2 to power savings mode even while power settings are disabled globally. Hopefully this fix helps someone else in here.

Im curious if anyone suggested this but try using rerouting your packets using VPN, usually it fixes around 90% of the lag. The issue is that packets are getting lost somewhere in the middle of WAN network, it was the case with PoE1 as well.
