PoE 2 - I hate trial of the sekhemeas so much

trials are the worst thing in poe2
I agree with you, OP.

1) Mechanically Honour heavily incentivize rolling, which gets in the way of the gameplay loop people play ARPG for (mashing skill buttons they like). Gets in the way extremely hard, like, 80% of the buttons i press is SPACE bar. This is not a good gameplay.

2) It is not fair because it punishes melee and high-survivability/low-damage builds (and punishes most builds naturally, because most skills are undertuned yet).

3) Not getting hit deciding whether you've passed the trial or not has the wrong ring to it. Its not Mario or survival horror, its an ARPG, the genre about building the character and slaying the bunch of mobs, getting hit here is a norm and this is not something that should decide whether you've passed the trial or not.

4) It doesnt even work as a measurement of skill since its easy to bypass by making OP one shot build which will always be a thing.

I guess you want to add some artificial difficulty on top of the classic gameplay anyway, but Honor and not getting hit are just NOT that. Think of something else pls.

Sanctum was for cheesy totem and minion builds to play, I tried it once or twice and never played it again and yeah dreading the experience in this game.
is there no third option besides sanctum and ultimatum? i thought they said there would be

There is: Its called skip ascendencies all together...
I like the idea of doing something to ascend. I feel like it should be ascendancy specific though. This seems like an opportunity to do some world building via ascendancy. And instead just make these current trials their own optional end game activity.
boss rush mode.
beat 3 bosses consecutively
then 5,
then 7

if they love RNG so much, then RNG which boss.

edit: for the love of god don't gatekeep basic character progression behind a random drop. the status symbol for "i'm gud" is you get to lv100 fast or have all the gg items. not, I got all my ascendancy points. where's the ladder for that.

edit2: ascendancy specific mentioned above is the best idea.

its funny because after the livestream everyone was like "dont worry guys if you hate sanctum/ulti there will be a third option"
So I did both floors of cruel lab, and did not get any points
its annoying,

for your first 2 ascendancy points you need to do sekhema,
for the next 2, ultimatum
for the next 2, back to sekehma but you need to clear 3 floors not 1
for the next 2, back to ultimatum to clear 10 trials minimum.

this isnt fun,

its tedious.

and there are more afflictions in this version of it than there were in sanctum.

each floor the mobs honor drain when it hits you increases with each floor as well.

i had 7k honor, got hit by 1 mechanic on the third floor before the boss room and lost 1.2k honor.

went into the boss room got hit by a boss mechanic and lost 3k honor as well.

the place wouldnt be so bad if the honor drain was increasing per the trial,
when you already have afflictions, limited boons, and the tedious nature of having to pay attention for 3 floors of 12+ rooms (36 rooms).

most of the afflictions are punishing
Lose honor exiting a room shouldnt exist
reduce max honor by 50% shouldnt be a thing
mobs slowing you by 50% when you already gave out a 25% slowing affliciton shouldnt be a thing as well.

certain afflictions should not be allowed to be gotten at the same time.

the fact you have locked 50% of the player power behind ascendancy for some builds, and then put the gain route for these in one of the most toxic game mechanics every imagined by a Gaming Company, is over the top.
