POE 2 Complete PC Freeze while loading screen

I noticed when changing maps or when teleporting to town the CPU temperatures get really high. Alarming high as CPU use is 100%. Sometimes resulting in a crash. I tried lowering the FPS in settings but it's not enough. When playing there's no problems with the temperature but once you load the game or teleport to town it's unhealthy how high temperature and how much CPU is being used. As if the CPU power is used for something else.
Just chiming in that this error bricked my brand new PC completely. It was a day old, just unboxed, installed steam, installed Poe2, started playing and everything froze in the first couple of zone changes. Nothing worked. I had to hard reboot because ctrl-alt-del didn't work.

This happened a couple more times. I had monitors running, and they recorded the CPU usage shooting up to 100% just before everything became unresponsive.

During one of these freezes, the PC powered itself off suddenly and refused to turn back on.

Brand new 2000+ dollar PC turned into a brick.

It's since been repaired and the necessary parts were replaced, but I can confirm that the only thing that prevents the full lockup of the PC is Process Lasso keeping the game from using 100% of all the CPU's cores. I still crash, apparently, but at the very least I can ctrl-alt-del the game with cores 0 and 1 locked.

I've played POE since the Beta. I have one of the original Kiwis. I'm extremely invested... and I may just quit permanently over this. I can't risk thousands of dollars to play a game, and this has permanently damaged my confidence in GGG. I Mean, what if the same problem happens in another update in the distant future, and I don't have Process Lasso running at the time? Will I lose another PC?

Absolutely, unequivocally unacceptable.
Happens several times a day for me, always freeze at loading screens and I have to hard reset my computer.

Come on, fix this shit already!

Yeah and thats the point where iam out, bought the game just today and opened a ticket now for a refund, in worst case i open a paypal support case and put exactly this as screenshot in it that i dont want to risk my PC after i had several freezes already.

just to add, also noticed that it goes from 100% to 00% on the loading screens, first time i've seen this in all my years gaming.
Vulkan + PoE Uncrasher are the cure

That's quite messed up. What parts did you have to replace?

Even with a sustained 100% load, there should be thermal protections everywhere, first for throttling (reducing performance), and forced shutdown in the worst case.

It's not healthy for the hardware in the long run, of course, but it's not something that happens in days (I have burned a GPU after 5 months on 100% load once, fluid dynamics work stuff).
Clearly GGG doesnt care enough or they straight up dont know how to fix this. Otherwise they would've adressed it further buy now. I can only imagine what kind of nightmare their codebase must be when stuff like this happens... My guess is they will just be silent about it and hope everyone who has this issue quits.

Thankfully the graphics card was fine. It was the PSU that burned out, and there were knock-on effects of that (the motherboard stopped being able to run/register about half the fans in the case for example). It was easier to RTB the whole system and get it repaired by a professional than try to fix it myself.
i am experiencing the same issues. pc locks up, reboot is required unless i restrict poe not to run on several cpus.
