POE 2 Complete PC Freeze while loading screen
This issue is getting ridiculous, since the update i literally cannot play the game except when turning off engine multithreding, which is really fucking annoying because that destroys fps, so i have to turn it on and off everytime i go through a portal or waypoint... tha is if i'm even able to get into the fucking game.
GGG this is a number 1 priority what the fuck are we doing? |

" Probably won't break it but it definitely could! Either way, it's not good to do it continuously. If they're not careful they could have a class action for the damages caused. Seems like a no-brainer to me. Fix it or lose money. |

" For me this stoped after i updated my BIOS but the freezing on the loading screens still happens from time to time |

I think this may be a Nvidia app issue soaking up 50% of everyones' cpu. I saw the FrameviewSDK in my task manager absolutely killing my cpu, you can uninstall this on it's own if you look up Nvidia in your apps and looks for the Frameview app. Even if you wanna wait for a fix i'd recommend uninstalling this to save your system from being constantly overworked. That app is only for performance monitoring and overlay so it's pretty pointless anyway. Turned off upscaling too we'll see if I stay crash free.

Thanks for the replies..
so i just joined the community discord for PoE 1 and 2. I searched the strings "pc freeze" on the search bar and found 2019, 2020, 21, 22 and on and on about their PC's freezing from literally anything. wtf is this company i still like the game but no seriously what is this |
|
" Unfortunately, it's not the app. I don't even have it installed and still get the pc freezing. |
|
I leave PoE 1 up for days on end without this issue. It's not happening for me in PoE 1 at all.
Dont know what to tell you, I'm literally playing for multiple hours without this issue in One right now. |
|
" Wish I was so lucky. Can't play either POE1 or POE2 without the pc freeze. And I play the crap out of Satisfactory with crazy megafactories. That game is a huge CPU hog, and I never see freezing or crashing. |

I have change from dx12 to vulkan and it fixed for me, 2 days 0 crash

I don't know if this will help anyone, tried all the usual fixes. Nothing worked until I updated my bios, i did have to enable secure boot as it was showing up on crash logs but also updated bios, windows to newest update and patch. Reinstalled newest nvidea drivers, and then the next time i booted up in vulkan (you have to boot it in load screen then exit then restart the game) and its been running for 8 hours no issues both today and 4 hours last night.
I had tried previously: reverting windows update, limiting cores, multithreading, vulkan, lowered settings, etc. I have everything maxed and every option on in vulkan and getting just as good fps as I was on dx12 though it doesn't look as great. |
