There is no such thing as "PoE Uncrasher" lmao. Stay away from placebo solutions, "fixes" and workarounds. Just be patient and wait for an official fix.
It's a workaround just like disabling multithread is. It just does it automatically.
The guy who made literally said so.
So what the other guy said? All this is doing is kneecapping your cpu right before it kills itself. It's still happening and this "fixes" nothing. The best thing to do is stop playing, leave negative reviews/comments, and pray they care enough to actually fix it. All these eorkarounds do is give ggg an excuse not to do anything.

I put some thought into this post and what I then did has totally solved the crash freeze issue that has plagued me since buying POE2... no other solution posted thus far has helped. 5 hours of play in 3 sessions + at least 20 portals across all parts of the game to test.
1. Uninstall POE2 and if you have it POE1 as well.
2. Important... delete both POE1 and 2 folders from your Documents/ My Games folder.
3. Do a search on your drive(s) for anything "Path of Exile", highlight all results and delete the files and folders then do the same search for "Grinding Gears" just in case there's any remnants that may be there. Then, empty your recycle bin!
4. Clean your shader cache... empty that sucker.
5. Rerun a scan in Nvidia App and make certain Path of exile is gone from your installed games.
6. Restart windows.
7. Do a fresh install of POE2 only (don't install POE1)
8. Start the game and redo your settings to taste. I left it on DX12 to really test it without Vulkan. Then exit the game and then restart it.
9. Ready to play... load in and hold your breath.
Once I was loading in I noticed the gears turning much smoother. When I started playing, I ran about while shaders compiled. The game was much smoother and ran well. I ported around maps and was overjoyed when they all loaded without freezing. Hard to explain but everything was running much better.
The big question... Is there a conflict between the 2 POE versions causing issues?
PS. Just did another 2 hour session and no crashes! CPU and GPU are also cooler.
Wtf it actually worked! Thank you.
Tried it and it doesn't work for me

Updated my Steam review to negative until this issue is fixed.
Don’t want anyone bricking their PCs with a defective game hard freezing/crashing their OS.
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7700X

I have had some good success with an app called Process Lasso. You can use this to specifically set a rule for the PoE2 process to drop to IDLE priority and unassign 2 cores if the CPU usage rises above 95% for a second, and then remain at IDLE for say, 10 seconds. And then resume normal processes.
Find the tool here: https://bitsum.com/
To do this:
* Open Options, CPU Limiter
* New CPU Limit Rule:
Process match: pathofexilesteam.exe
When CPU use is: 85%
For a period of: 1 seconds
Reduce by this many cores: 2
For a period of: 10 seconds.
I also use ProBalance settings:
Advanced/
Leave all settings except:
Lower to idle priority instead of below normal: Ticked
Ignore all foreground processes: Unticked
Change affinity during restraint: Ticked
CPUs: 2-15 (or how many cores you have, just ensure you start at core 2)
This has immediately solved the issue for me - and it even decreases load time dramatically as well. Any tool that can reduce the CPU priority and remove cores will probably work, but this can be done on a rule basis per running process.
Of course, I cannot say if this is guaranteed to work for everyone. But I can say I've had hardlocking constantly, and I've now been able to play for 5 hours continuously. Except for one REALLY off bug that may be a server issue (says my controller is unplugged then dumps me back to the login screen).
This has fixed whatever is going on, i have no idea anything about computers but this seems to have helped out

I reviewed the game as negative on steam.
This is my review, if you want you can simply copy/paste it.
The game hard crashes taking the OS with it, requiring manual shutdown by using the power button.
GGG has been silent about this issue except a single post in known issues which misdiagnoses the problem as a "Win 11 24H2 issue". GGG requested DxDiags and did not access them. GGG does not mention this issue in the patch notes.
Currently on the Path of Exile 2 Early Access Bug Reports Forum has two main threads:
1) Hard crashing PC locks up: 248 Pages, 2471 Replies, 146069 Views. Created at 7th of December, 2024.
2) POE 2 Complete PC Freeze while loading screen: 216 Pages, 2159 Replies, 204635 Views. Created at 7th of December, 2024.
In comparison the entire "[POE 2] Bugs" thread has 138 Pages, 1370 Replies, 29196 Views.
In terms of ratio, more than half of the replies and views to the forum belong to these two threads.
There are no bugs that are more important than this. This is not "I cannot use X skill bug". This is "improper usage of system APIs by the application" causing "100% CPU utilization" leading to a crash, resulting in "shortened component lifespan and possibly bricking PC".
There are people who have lost their PSUs, SSDs, GPUs, CPUs, Bluetooths, USBs... Any part you can put in a PC, there is someone on the forum that have lost it due to this "bug".
This happens on every kind of OS and hardware.
OS: Happens on Linux, Win10, Win11.
Hardware: AMD and Intel CPUs, AMD and Nvidia GPUs in all types of combination. If a hardware can run it, there is a person with that hardware on those 400 page threads with this crashing bug.

It seems Microsoft has come out and said that auto-hdr is causing crashing on Windows 11 24H2: https://cyberinsider.com/microsoft-says-auto-hdr-in-windows-11-24h2-causes-game-freezes/
Can anyone chime in on disabling (if you have it enabled) and see if it makes a difference for this poe2 issue?

Going to try this
Edit: I do not have those options available, yet another useless article that solves nothing. PoE 1 and 2 are the only games I have that have this issue.
What in damnation have you done? Last edited by BongWarrior#0384 on Dec 19, 2024, 12:03:56 PM

Given that many people here do not even have Win11 24H2, it too will be a placebo fix.
There is nothing you can do to fix this except trying to minimize the damage it causes.
You can minimize the damage it causes by limiting the access the game has to CPUs so that it at least does not take the system with it when it freezes.
Other than that people are reporting success with PoE2 Uncrasher but whether to use it or not is your decision.
Remember to give a negative review on Steam.

My display can't handle HDR and I don't have that option available, and I have za freezes.
