Daily reminder that this is not a hardware or OS issue.
As always we have some trolls and tourists here stating this due to x, where x=/=PoE2.
To anyone who is confused about the Windows 11 24H2 crashes:
That particular error Ubisoft and other games faced was that Windows' "New Feature" was blocking the program's access to system resources, therefore crashing the program but never crashing the PC itself.
The problem PoE2 has is that program is hogging all available system resources due improper usage of system APIs, therefore crashing the program AND the PC itself. (Technically it crashes the OS because OS can no longer get the resources it has to in order to function properly)
People are crashing on Win 10, Win 11, Linux. If PoE2 runs on an OS, there is someone here crashing on that OS.
This is not a hardware issue:
We have reports of crashes from every single hardware component that can run this game.
Our most recent tourist here to troll stated this is a Raptor Lake(13th/14th gen Intel CPU) issue. Apparently Intel decided to secretly enter my home to upgrade my CPU and in an aggressive marketing move also changed the CPUs of people with AMD CPUs... Just report these trolls. Unfortunately I think they are condoned by GGG staff.
Yeah that Intel guy was really something.

Ok guys I think I have found the problem (as I said I think). I have installed PoE2 on a HDD and it works without problems (except that it loads a bit longer). But as soon as I install Poe2 on a SSD which is also DirectStorage compatible, my PC freezes.
So it could well be that Poe2 has problems with SSDs and/or DirectStorage.

Daily reminder that this is not a hardware or OS issue.
Just to chime in on this, I have this issue on 3 devices now. Main device being 7800X3D RTX 4090 on Windows 11 24H2. Second device being 5950X 6950XT on Linux and lastly, weirdly enough, also my Steam deck since the latest patch.
The main machine was fine in the first week of early access, 40h playtime, while still being at 23H2. I had to upgrade to 24H2 (not related to PoE) and the issue started there, though going back to 23H2 didn't fix shit so that one is pure coincidence.

There is no such thing as "PoE Uncrasher" lmao. Stay away from placebo solutions, "fixes" and workarounds. Just be patient and wait for an official fix.
It's a workaround just like disabling multithread is. It just does it automatically.
The guy who made literally said so.

I was blasting the first couple of days without any issues at all.
I probably played 40 hours the first weekend alone and zero crashes or hiccups.
Then the week following after one of the patches it all started to happen to me.
Idk if it's pure coincidence or not though.

I put some thought into this post and what I then did has totally solved the crash freeze issue that has plagued me since buying POE2... no other solution posted thus far has helped. 5 hours of play in 3 sessions + at least 20 portals across all parts of the game to test.
1. Uninstall POE2 and if you have it POE1 as well.
2. Important... delete both POE1 and 2 folders from your Documents/ My Games folder.
3. Do a search on your drive(s) for anything "Path of Exile", highlight all results and delete the files and folders then do the same search for "Grinding Gears" just in case there's any remnants that may be there. Then, empty your recycle bin!
4. Clean your shader cache... empty that sucker.
5. Rerun a scan in Nvidia App and make certain Path of exile is gone from your installed games.
6. Restart windows.
7. Do a fresh install of POE2 only (don't install POE1)
8. Start the game and redo your settings to taste. I left it on DX12 to really test it without Vulkan. Then exit the game and then restart it.
9. Ready to play... load in and hold your breath.
Once I was loading in I noticed the gears turning much smoother. When I started playing, I ran about while shaders compiled. The game was much smoother and ran well. I ported around maps and was overjoyed when they all loaded without freezing. Hard to explain but everything was running much better.
The big question... Is there a conflict between the 2 POE versions causing issues?
PS. Just did another 2 hour session and no crashes! CPU and GPU are also cooler.
Wtf it actually worked! Thank you.

I'm lucky, reverting 24h2 update solved the problem. Let's hope it keep working, but it's only a temp fix since I'll need to update one moment or later.

I have tried this couple of days before and still had freezes.
