DO NOT make your own build in EA
yeah sure, its only the mostly appealing part of the game to me lmao

" Yes, why not. To be honest, if I have no other choice, I will also do it with minimal planning. But I will still adjust it the moment I have a "proof of concept" with the same class. Or reroll into something else, should it prove to be significantly better. |

One of the main reasons I'm playing EA is so I can get a head start learning the game so that I can actually make my own builds instead of relying on copying other people since it's honestly not very enjoyable.
If you're going to just copy pasta a build on day one without even attempting to be self-sufficient then why not just skip EA entirely and wait for the strongest build to come out before you log in. I don't understand this mindset or why it warrants a post here. Even on PoE 1 I've completely butchered builds and still managed to be fine by the endgame. The worst thing that can happen making your own build is that you are going to be a bit behind everyone else. Which doesn't matter in any way because this is an early access and you're not going to keep anything anyway.. |

" I do not see it as contradiction. |

How dare anyone play the game to try and have fun and make their own build! The AUDACITY!

" You can play the game for years, and still look at dissolution of the flesh - eternal youth - petrified blood combination, without having any idea what is going on. And I do not think that any amount of in-game time (even unreasonable) would guide you to combine such items with something like rathpith/relic of the pact. (It is more likely than not to not even see all of those items) Yet, this is one of the most enjoyable builds I played. Very unique. In more than one way. The truth is, such builds often come from people who spend quite some time in the wiki page and tools like PoB. And while I have few unique "masterpieces" that brought me joy to play, they do not even get close to this. If I have played only my builds, I would have missed this. And I do not want to miss such things. |

As far as the passive tree goes I think for a lot of people putting points into random things will probably work out better than if they try to actually make a build lul. It's going to be so much bait to spend passive points on stuff till people understand the trees.

" QFT. ^ That is me to a tee ^ ~ I have selective hearing, and today, you have not been selected.

as someone who started the exact opposite thread.
your opinion IS VALID. you have solid points. i may disagree with you but, theres always a different POV. and yeah i can see your POV. you dont want to waste time figuring out your own build. thats actually a fair opinion to have. also you're right, the game will be "solved" sooner or later, some build will outperform others. my counterargument is POE2 is different from POE1 philosophically. we do not know the extent of build efficiency required. can we outskill a boss encounter? or do we simply outgear the boss? in POE1 its very apparent that gearing is much more important than actual player skill. i cleared the feared. i died 3-4 times as i ate huge attacks to my face. but i still cleared the encounter by simply DPSing all the bosses to death. i've seen how "good players" clear ubers. the BEST way to clear ubers in POE1 is to OUTGEAR the encounter. make it so that you can self sustain and hack the enemies life down to zero or nuke the boss down asap. i ll be real. thats ZERO skill and all gearing. based on interviews POE2 is going to be more skill based. if you follow a build you might have an easier time but it doesnt guarantee you'll be able to clear the encounter. theres still so much we do not know at this point. its perfectly fine if you want to follow a build guide. but my suggestion still stands to OTHER players, EA is still the best time to try making your own build. you really lose nothing. in fact you're robbing yourself out of making your own build. POE2's passive tree seems much more flexible and due to how the attribute highway works it seems hard to make a "wrong choice". i m not going to insult you for not "being able" to make your own passive tree. you dont want to and that is fine. theres no need for people to insult you like that. you just dont want to. but for everyone else. i m sure we'll have fun making our own builds. as for myself i cant clear ubers but i m so damn happy with how far i managed to push my own build. it is mine. it is my effort.
