Gonna go with bow/dual wield. Im gonna choose stuff "on the fly". Its not gonna be my only character. Hush now.

The goal of any game should be to have fun, not everyone will need to have the top 1% of builds doing the top 1% of content.

I agree.
At some point people will follow guides, poe2 makes respecing easier than before there is absolutely no harm trying stuff. Even the devs keep telling people to try and experiment stuff, make your own builds see what content you can do with it. It's all part of the fun, when you are stuck or something with your full build, you can check 7/24 gamers and follow their successful builds easily.

Why are you being so cringe and telling people to follow guides day 1. This is next level of cringe.

If nobody should build, who is building then and shows a build? :P

I am not saying "nobody" should build. The people who have the technical knowledge, the tools and the time, do not care about anyone's opinion on this forum.

I am saying that people without the technical knowledge (say "the general population") should not attempt to do something they cant, unless they do not mind getting disappointed, once the things they planned do not turn out the way they think they would.

always did my own builds in poe1, will do it again in poe2

screw copycat poeninja streamer slave meta, not fun

Your builds will not work. Period.

So many people are telling others "check this out, try that", "Hundreds of gems available", "There will be thousand of possible builds"...

No. Lies upon lies. Click baits.

The offense in this game relies on strong synergy from equipment and tree nodes. The damage is calculated in terms of millions. It is the result from chain of multiplication, cheesy conversions and focusing all investment on one thing.

The defense is organized on different layers, demanding heavy investment, often in multiple of them, to ensure character survival.

The game was, is, and always will be, balanced against top builds.

You will never be able to pick nodes on the go, and come up with something that works. Even if you are particularly good at math, prototyping requires tools, that allow you to check if the end-game numbers are actually alright.

So if you want to see something more than the campaign (And you should, because otherwise its 30 buck for 3 acts...), "experimenting" is absolutely not recommended.

Honestly, I want to be constructive, but what a garbage take.

Remember with the skill changes (no more having to level new skills) and the fact that gold is used to respec points. Even if a person went ahead with whatever they wanted. If it doesnt work, they could just try something else.

Plus even the most technically knowledgeable players do not know how things will interact in POE2 as it is not the same as POE1, yes they can make some educated guesses, but I bet it is the random players that will find what we might call meta because they had the ability to try things those with knowledge didnt think will work.

Sometimes knowledge puts blinders on people because they are use to the way it was and how things worked.
Early Access is 100% the place to experiment with builds. If we want a well tested game having everyone play the same builds is just silly. The more things that get tested the more data GGG gets to work with. Don't listen to OP

And I bet that once we have PoB up and running with the new tree, ascendanceis, gems and item database, those "random player" builds will be out-performed in magnitudes.
