DO NOT make your own build in EA

This may well be the worst post I've ever seen on this forum.
I say EA is THE BEST time to experiment, try everything, brick characters if possible, and brick an atlas or two if possible. Figure out as much as you can before full launch so that you WON'T need to follow someone else's build.
I wanted to play a wander in EA but GGG killed that archetype so i'll have to experiment and make my own build now.
I will be making my own build in EA.

Your builds will not work. Period.

So many people are telling others "check this out, try that", "Hundreds of gems available", "There will be thousand of possible builds"...

No. Lies upon lies. Click baits.

The offense in this game relies on strong synergy from equipment and tree nodes. The damage is calculated in terms of millions. It is the result from chain of multiplication, cheesy conversions and focusing all investment on one thing.

The defense is organized on different layers, demanding heavy investment, often in multiple of them, to ensure character survival.

The game was, is, and always will be, balanced against top builds.

You will never be able to pick nodes on the go, and come up with something that works. Even if you are particularly good at math, prototyping requires tools, that allow you to check if the end-game numbers are actually alright.

So if you want to see something more than the campaign (And you should, because otherwise its 30 buck for 3 acts...), "experimenting" is absolutely not recommended.

I managed to make my builds work in poe1.
Even the very first infernal blow build worked in endgame.
So why would poe2 be different?
Also many people dont mind making more than one character as they experiment.
This is totally silly.
Sure if you are totally new to poe and arpg genre you might fail a character or two but its not rocketsurgery.
personally i think this is a pathetic take :p

why even play something new?

The game is balanced to a moderate build being played in SC despite what players think, most stuff works already and most of your own builds will work too if you actually know how to make a build.

And how do you learn that? By making builds :p experiment guys you are gonna have fun you can always swap to an established build later and it will increasingly become the norm as every player whips out their div/hr to validate their existence.

Erm, who cares ? It's not like it's PvP and you HAVE to be "meta" or you'll get "stomped"...

Part of the game, to some, is discovering how shit work and trying shit out.
Also, with a game like PoE (2) we are in for LOOOOOONG run, if it's as good as PoE1 we'll be playing it in 2034 still. That's plenty of time to experiment and try meta and off-meta builds.

Well, I will have to disagree with that.

I would be surprised if more than 10% of the accounts even finish their atlas progression during the league. And even if they, it is not uncommon to see 80 max res, phys cap, block cap, crit immune, build to get random "one shot".

I seriously doubt that someone who searched "bow" and picked those nodes on the tree will get any further than red maps.

All I am trying to say: there is very very good reason that selling services is so profitable.

Ever considered maybe it's just a "you" issue and your just not good enough?

The people who make these top meta builds are also people and yet they are able to make their own builds that are top tier but for some reason you think that just because you can't others can't either?
