DO NOT make your own build in EA
Your builds will not work. Period.
So many people are telling others "check this out, try that", "Hundreds of gems available", "There will be thousand of possible builds"... No. Lies upon lies. Click baits. The offense in this game relies on strong synergy from equipment and tree nodes. The damage is calculated in terms of millions. It is the result from chain of multiplication, cheesy conversions and focusing all investment on one thing. The defense is organized on different layers, demanding heavy investment, often in multiple of them, to ensure character survival. The game was, is, and always will be, balanced against top builds. You will never be able to pick nodes on the go, and come up with something that works. Even if you are particularly good at math, prototyping requires tools, that allow you to check if the end-game numbers are actually alright. So if you want to see something more than the campaign (And you should, because otherwise its 30 buck for 3 acts...), "experimenting" is absolutely not recommended. Edit: This is not attempt to coerce players to follow blindly other peoples builds, as some people have suggested multiple times. And some ask me how this affects me, why is this my problem. I do NOT like bad builds. I do not like to struggle. I do not like to constantly respawn. If a build I have shows even slight hint, that it wont be doing decently... I DELETE IT. No matter if its my own, or someone elses. It is a torment. And I think, that many players who play this game, and will play the game that comes do feel the same way. They will want reliable, strong, fast, easy to play build. They will want to explore more. To do more. And nothing in the past years provides evidence, that creating your build on the go is viable way to complete endgame content. So many of you say that enjoy picking nodes on the go, and plan to do it on EA. I absolutely respect your choice. I support your choice. I just want to share my thoughts on this matter. If someone cannot make a build that SOMEWHAT works.. they are likely either 12 years old or mentally impaired.
No you do not need t a top build to experience EA and almost anyone can with some coherent selections make a build that can do the campaign and a good ammount of the atlas. |

" You are right and wrong at the same time, in my opinion. I think during the campaign and maps any skill/class will be able to get through it no problem. However as you start juicing maps, doing bosses there will probably be some builds that are better at it. When it comes to scaling they made it a lot easier, honestly just look at the tags on the skill search for them in the tree and it should be good for 95% of the player base. The goal of any game should be to have fun, not everyone will need to have the top 1% of builds doing the top 1% of content. |

If I can make a functional build in POE 1 any idiot can make one in POE 2. Yes, I just insulted myself.....I work like that.

" I throwed a quick glance over your characters... Some of those "home brew" builds look surprisingly close to the ones you get from Walmart. Forgive me if I am mistaken. Maybe it is coincidence. And pure logic lead you to pick those nodes. |

Don´t agree on this especially in EA.
1 - there won´t be any fire-proofed builds at the start. 2 - greatly depends on how smart you are and if you have prior knowledge to PoE. If you´re used to certain combinations and how to engage with skills, items and the skilltree, i'm very sure you will get pretty far without any guide. 3 - if nobody should build, who is building then and shows a build? :P |
