POE 2: Class Gender Lock is a Step Backwards
" |

The very fact that this isn't a thing in PoE 1 more than a decade later and not something GGG considered immediately while making a new game says enough. Take the hint. This isn't high priority. It will likely never happen. Which again, doesn't matter, as it is an absolute non issue.

I completely agree that it's an oversight to not allow gender choice, but in all honestly it doesn't bother me that much. I'm pretty happy with the genders they've chosen for the 6 classes available in early access. Not sure what the plans are for the remaining classes, but hopefully the assassin is a female and everything else is a male (aside from Huntress, obviously).

From an economic standpoint makes sense 1 model-1 mtx: imagine the trouble porting mtx from poe1 and then remake for a different 3d model- for every class.

" Agreed. It could easily compare to 24 bosses, as character animations are extensive in PoE2. Which I'll gladly take over the gender option, especially at EA. Did you try turning it off and on again?

"I'll eat my shoes if the animations are not shared between characters as is. Do you really think they animate it seperately for witch, sorceress, huntress, ranger?... They probably all use the same skeleton and just a different mesh. The only one that stands out to me maybe is the Warrior and I wouldn't be surprised if that is just a skeleton that is just larger with a bigger mesh, this one tho I'm not 100% on tho. |
|
The character rigs have all the animations they need, just unlock them from the classes and let players pick their character and then their class. Two clicks instead of one, easy fix.
Or sell opposite gender models as MTX once the game is finished, either one is easy. Don't need hair color or skin color or a character creator or anything like that since the PoE community will get upset. |

And than be called lazy and / or greedy? I would not if i were them.

" That will happen regardless, even just by not doing anything. Kinda damned if you do damned if you don't. Personally I don't see a problem with do MTX, at least then they make some money on the extra work. |

Yeah they already sell crazy armor skins, I don't see how anyone would have a problem with them selling opposite gender character models, as that supports the devs, who can then go on to develop more content for the game.
