So what do you guys think of achievements being "solo play" bound?

I know some folks care about the internet points and whatever, but has anyone really looked at a 40/40 and thought "Wow, impressive!". I'm guessing no. I think the actual thought ranges from "Wow, you have a lot of patience for bullshit grinds" or "People pay for them. You probably did too."

yeah, its a fair comment.

honestly when i see it i think ok that person has a decent level of competence with the game. even if you paid for them that means you understand the deeper levels of the trade economy, you probably know how to find a decent build and at least generate the disposable currency to get those last few carries.

no ones blowing me away like seeing the guys beating pin bosses in hcssf during harsh conditions in a few days during races. but even with carries being a thing its not nothing.

ive put 20k hours into this game, i have tons of mirrored gear and nonsense, im no elite player but im a veteran of the game, you cant get those milestones without knowing a lot about the game. but if i play a league i might just play a few weeks, i might do it group found with a friend and have 14 achieves by my name that randomly triggered as i did stuff. 40 challenges doesnt mean someones necessarily better at the game than a guy with 10 challenges or even 0.

but it does mean theyre not clueless, at the very least theyre a journeyman player with a good working knowledge of this game and i do respect that. it doesnt prove you are an amazing player but it shows youre far from a bad player. i see all u guys with 40 and guys ive seen with 40 in the past and i do respect the dedication even with carries being a thing.
They are fine as is. Why do you care what other people enjoy and want to take it away from them, because you have different opinion on how things should be?

Play the game how you like it and leave the rest to do the same.

Agreed. 40/40 isn't the most impressive thing in the game by a long shot. But it does demonstrate certain levels of knowledge and patience with the game. Most of the challenges are dramatically easier when you know the games basic DNA.

The people that craft the WTF how did you do that items, that's impressive to me. I have never done a crafting project and created something that was a show it off type of item. But I can kill ubers with a relatively low DPS build. I guess we all find our way to something that works for us in terms of what might be considered impressive.

I think people forget that people can get pretty wealthy despite never hitting 40/40. And you aren't hitting those higher tiers of wealth without a solid understanding of at least the economy.

I've got my two 40/40s and several 36+ but compared to most I'm pretty damn poor in comparison. When I was more active on the forums, I did tend to check profiles -- but that was mainly for the folks that were extremely vocal but didn't seem to know what they were talking about.
Yep, totally over league play.
"carry services" are cancer in this game. Everyone can do everything without asking someone else. One exception - party play with the support.
