POLL: Did Exilecon increase or decrease your overall hype for POE and POE 2?

Decrease for sure.
The separation of the games felt like a kick in the nuts after 4 years of believing that we are getting modern engine to our beloved PoE. I was really looking forward to it. I feel like making a stream announcement about it with some sort of glimpse/talk about the game when it was decided that it's gonna be a separate game would've been much better than hyping us up and letting us believe about release soon after Exilecon. I think GGG dropped the ball here.
It's hard to be excited for something that's gonna be released 2 years from now, im sure hype would pick up again once we come closer to release/beta.
If it's true that PoE2 will not be that much slower than current PoE they should've talked about it more or even come out with some map gameplay with some PoE 1 endgame build. Even tho I know the demo they presented was artificially made slower/harder for the sake of showing skills/graphics/boss mechanics i'm still left with that dreadful feeling that PoE2=ruthless like many others.
It's free and it is fundamentally PoE so it's definitely a try, whether I like it or not is yet to be decided and if not we have PoE 1 right? Lets hope it's not the "unwanted child" or just a crutch to lean on before we make a full transition to PoE2.
all hype was removed instantly as a player of over 30,000 hours and going on over 10 years as soon as they said the endgame wouldn't be shared like they promised every last scrap of my faith went out the window.

This is definitively a sandbox game, They're taking the sand out of the box.

Easier to manage, But with no soul to animate the corpse as a necromancer im sorry to say, it wont last very long.

Totally agree
Decreased.

I watched almost all of Exilecon. Developers are very talented and they presented what they are doing with absolute joy and pride. It is very nice for them.

They are like great artists who perform their art for the sake of art and their self satisfaction.

However, I am an ordinary gamer and I do not think I will have fun playing POE 2. It is not fun pressing many buttons and fight 5-10 minutes the same monster, dodge rolling again again. What is the point of having long fights during levelling before end game? I have to do this long campaign for all of my future characters, no thank you, I already hate playing campaign again and again in current POE.
Increased for POE2
Decrease.
I dunno. I'm really excited for POE 2 but the mid 2024 beta announcement kinda killed that hype at least for 10 months. Overall I'm just very unhyped about POE in general atm and I'm probably taking a break til next year sometime.

And this Exilecon should probably have been delayed when they knew the beta wouldn't hit until mid 2024 tbh, because it kinda just came and went now. We know a few more details, but overall it's still just kind of a big mystery with no details on the passive trees, ascendancies, end game etc. They could've just done an online presentation on the current state of POE 2, saved this Exilecon til next year and then go all out with details on stage. Same with POE Mobile tbh, which now felt like a complete no show.

(And I just wish they'd just say that POE 2 is the game that will get all their support going forward, because this dual support/staggered leagues-meme is also kind of a hype-killer to me, even tho I don't think it'll happen in the end.)
