CHIEFTAIN Changes Seem Very Inconsiderate By GGG
I feel like as it is Chieftain will be fantastic for RF...but only during pre-map content. It provides some very substantial defensive boosts for early gearing. As you actually get some proper gear you'll probably want to move very far away from that ascendancy though because it's also got some really bad/useless stuff.

As i see this chief can be good only for Ruthless, and i will try it, but for regular league its rly bad. Waiting for buffs.

Yeah, while not very impressive and guardian might have just been deleted poor gladiator is sitting in the corner kicking dirt..
The only hope guardian has is if the minions are really powerful, and I mean vaal absolution strong or it's going to be me and 10 others using it for meme's and dumping it in the river, though it's flesh jewels on a inquisitor might make me try good another good old reaper... I just don't understand the direction they are going in, is it a new team in mainland china who's making the new stuff?, it's just feeling like someone who's never played poe typed in chatgpt how to somethings. All the comparisons I have seen are it might be good for RF... can we get some real build diversity instead of "I have been playing rf since beta" lying?. On the positives, the max res and overcap is really nice for anyone, just jug will benefit from it the most, since turning phys damage into elemental is one of the better damage mitigators in poe, grab a lightning coil/cloak of flame and bang 50/40% damage reduction to phys, get a taste of hate and that's more... That's all I can see as a positive, twahoa doesn't work with it's attached notable, the level 30 is a 20/20 gem, it's free but makes it seem better than it is, they try to force the new "decoy totem" to be a thing by making it taunt and heal when they take damage, kind of pointless since you won't get hit often with this playstyle, and we already have taunting totems on the tree. The explosion needs to be at least 30% to become a maybe gap filler, I cannot find a reasonable use for flames advance at all, past going north to the witch jewel slot, where nothing benefits you, and the node travel would be better served just getting a cluster jewel, unless it's a typo and instead means to say to transform to fire damage as well, this has no use as worded in all poe. If that was the case, well we found our missing damage, as flat added fire really would make that a good node, and maybe the only real damage node in the whole tree. all class changes are made for Ruthless mode ggg they are not interested in poe 1 at all, the changes are at alpha test level, an average poe 1 player would make better ascension changes

Well the patch notes only made Chieftain worse. now we have
" So now we need Ngamahu for Tukohama... And Nghamahu also gives 3 str per transformed notable or some crap. but they are added like 3 fire damage with weapon nodes near marauder so maybe you get like 50% increased damage from Ngamahu. Still Chieftain got merced hard, because scion keeps the 10% extra strength and unaffected by ignite (Chieftan doesn't appear to have unaffected by ignite on Tasalio in the patch notes). " Also Ramako is setting resists to zero, so no exposure. No mention of any mechanical changes to Tawhoa or what the Guardian summons do. This is a nerf patch for sure. |

thought about writing my own post but the mods just delete them anyway, so no point. this change right after announcing HOW COMPLETELY AND HOPELESSLY MELEE ARE SCREWED IN POE1 is so silly.
no one wants to stand still in this game. yet you just made a class stand still for 2 seconds? what in the hell are you thinking? we already know channeling stationary builds are useless. we already know classes that have to stand still cant handle top end content for shit. we already know that ascendancies are supposed to be huge sources of damage. You even admitted this was a problem you wanted to "solve" in poe2. yet here we are. so yea, this is ONE OF THOSE TIMES YOU NEED TO SPELL OUT VERY CLEARLY WHAT YOUR INTENTIONS ARE BECAUSE WE JUST DONT SEE ANYTHING SUCCESSFUL HERE.
