I did a leap slam totem chieftain this league for the meme's, I was able to laugh at the stupid fun while it still was a thing.

Now ancestor totem builds are only useful on.. champion and... ???

Was hoping on chieftain to get a full totem northside and conversion/slams bottom, got some of it, lost the rest... and that's IF they finally make fist and tahwoa work together.

well given that return is mostly not used for the projectile damage, but to shotgun with spells or skills that explode the 70% isn't really even a damage penalty. The number is big enough to scare off people, and it nerfs the uses that don't do shotgunning compared to 7.21. However even for the non-shotgunning builds it still a 30% more multiplier fora a single link.
I'm really quite unhappy with the rework. I'm playing a Tectonic Slam Chieftain right now and these changes are just going to utterly gut the character. It seems like they ripped out most of the useful synergies and interesting interactions. I'm losing a ton of fire damage support - including ignite, extra damage, and fire resist penetration - , as well as any endurance charge and warcry support. And what am I getting in return? The new Tukohama node looks kinda cool, too bad I'm not using any strike skills.

This sucks. The fire res stacking seems potentially interesting, but also absurdly niche, as do most of the other "new and improved" nodes. The is very little general synergy. Worst of all, this subclass was supposed to be all about Warcries and Totems, and there is almost none of that left anymore. What is the class identity for the Chieftain supposed to be now? None of this feels very coherent.

So, after some thought here is what I'd like to see happen with the Chieftain, in terms of flavor: refocus the class on Totems, Warcries and Elemental damage - I'd like for this to be the go-to class for players who want a Marauder that uses physical w/ elemental conversion skills.

Here is how I'd theme the nodes:

Ngamahu -> Ramako - Fire Damage Support
Tasalio -> Valako - Cold & Lightning Damage Support
Arohongui -> Hinekora - Totem + Ancestral Support
Tukohama - Warcry + Endurance Charge Support (similar to the old Valako node)
Tahwoa - Slam Attack Support

Nah... just gimped.

You want dead, try Guardian. It's the 'suicide NOW!' ascendancy. WTF in their right, sane mind play link skills knowing that someone ELSE dying will get them killed.

You've already seen how griefers have jumped on link skills to PK other players and now they build a whole ascendancy around THAT?

GGG needs to smoke a different cultivar that hasn't been dipped in formaldehyde because right now whatever they're smoking has fried their limited mental faculties.

Fixed a bug where players believed the game was playable. This has been corrected and made retroactive.

Fixed a bug where players adapted to 3.15. This bug cannot be corrected, so we have implemented a 90% reduction in item access as a punishment.

they take away the individuality of classes and all good ascendency nodes for a few leagues now
they break it down or make it useless

I hate that I think you are right. Not going into conspiracies, but ruthless has kind of infected a lot of design choices.

I think they said that their new ruthless ascendacies ideas are cooler/ better... whatever. All of the reworks kind of suck. They don't do anything. The most unique idea, triggerbots, are pretty useless. Ruthless has less ascendacy points so the synergies are smaller and less complex, I think. I would rather have the old ascendacies than ANY of the new.

These kind of changes are why I am not touching poe2.
inexperienced students do poe 1 now
and all is set to ruthless it's no wonder they don't know what this game is about
