RUTHLESS

I remember that players were having problems with sustaining maps in 3.19, so with reduced drops and the elimination of vendors, how are players in Ruthless mode going to deal with the Atlas?
finaly i have been hoping to see this ever since chris mentioned it, my dream has come true
Might play myself again and try this out.

Ruthless sounds potentially fun for multiplayer

if it just restricts loot then it'll be sorta pointless, there are league starter builds for a reason and Ruthless will just be league starter build "only" mode

I don't mind Archnemesis, it has been a while since the first iteration of it and I think it is in a very good place right now.

Ruthless seems interesting, I would like to try it in SSF but not immediately. First I would like to hear how it is from other people and then I would try it. It took me years before leaving trade leagues and starting SSF so I think I will wait a couple patches before trying Ruthless. Maybe just before POE 2 comes out.
That's it, divide the player population even more lol. SSF isn't even worth it since it's PATH OF CRAFTING, and you can still use your stash on death. All it does is segment players.

SSFHC RUTHLESS btw.

It is better to split the player base than to have a part of it constantly miserable at the expense of another depending on which direction the balancing goes. Not to mention that GGG has enough resources to balance 2 difficulties every 3 months. More players will easily join the game once they know that their type is catered tom which will further alleviate the slum in the economy for a league or two.

Also, the size of the market in a certain country where only adults are legally allowed to play for more than 3h a week. Technically, after their 10+ h workday and their family obligations.

I've seen something along the lines of this argument a few times, and I think it's based in the thinking that now that Ruthless is there, the base game can trend back to 3.13.

That argument somehow assumes that you have to have an extremely easy mode and an aggravatingly hard grindy mode. There is a HUGE gulf between what they envision for Ruthless and what some players want in easy mode 3.13. There are people that think inside that gulf is the right answer; I happen to be one of them.

I actually think the game is fairly close right now to what I would prefer with a few exceptions -- melee is garbage, zero defenses is king in end game, and loot explosions from god touched as a few examples.

No doubt people will make the argument for the game to get easier because of the existence of Ruthless, but it's a bad argument.
Thanks for all the fish!
