What Happened with Items

See telling us it was all a communication breakdown doesn’t make the nerfs feel better. It’s like someone telling you they are gonna kick you in the nuts before they do it. You’re balls still hurt either way.
I could write a novel about everything wrong with this game.

I'll start by saying idk what kind of "counter-play" exists past lvl30
you stay as far away from monsters as possible and spam your ability until its dead while spamming your flask. To suggest theirs any counter-play going on truly baffles me. Kiting enemies is not fun or interesting.

Concerning loot, most times you just trade with another player to get the thing you're looking for unless you need perfect rolls. It's often cheaper to roll them yourself. FINDING an item you can actually use is almost never past lvl60.
You're better off loading up trade and looking for something.

And it seems to me that you're actively nerfing crafting (harvest) and making players rely on trade even more. Its extremely immersion breaking to ask some random person for items instead of finding them as I would believe is the game's intention.

Traders are satisfied, people endlessly farming t16 for 10 hours a day might be satisfied. But me whos just casually running maps getting to red slowly and building characters. I feel no connection to the items I acquire or pick up.
most of them get thrown into my chaos recipe never to be identified.

I want to love this game, but I only ever feel a fleeting interest every few months. I think its a huge cope that you just accept huge drop in player numbers after a week as "finding other stuff to play"

Thanks for the hard work and the updates. The scope of the game is massive and difficult for all of us to understand the nuance of every change. Hopefully one day I can fall in love with POE again.

It's amazing the amount of vitriol being spewed at GGG for this, obviously they made a mistake.

There have been plenty of legit critiques and they're clearly reading and reacting as best as they can. The 3 month timeline seems to be getting to them.

The biggest thing you can do as a player is just not play the game, coming to a forum to say "GAMES DEAD U SUCK" does nothing. They are aware of the amount of people quitting their game, some will come back once they keep patching, but they've lost the majority.

Hate is the status quo in this generation, just take a step back and and relax, they will either fix it or they wont, their livelihoods depend on them making a game people want to play.

You encapsulated exactly my sentiments on this. As an agile project manager, all of these inputs are being cycled through, evaluated analytically, estimated for level of effort, prioritized, and grouped into releases.

GGG handling multiple patches per week without game breaking regressions is proof that the team is fully capable of resolving this. Patience is required though.

I know how hard it can be to get hotfix releases pushed through, account for the unexpected results of user feedback, and still try to keep the highest level epics that tie to your roadmap on track.

I had put off playing too much of the endgame this league until after these patches went through. I can say that with each patch it has become better rather than worse. I look forward to seeing a few more future patches to really address the concerns in full. This post, however, was a great start if taken at face value.

It occurs to me that 'taking responsibility' kinda doesnt mean anything unless there's some actual consequences for you personally, or restitution to those upset, or something. I mean, it still has some value from an organizational perspective (if that's what you actually did; it wouldn't be the first time a corporation said one thing to the public and another internally). But it can came across as kind of empty to take responsibility without actually doing any accountability.
You sold supp pack to us and then.......
way to much hate going on. we might not agree on everything, but we can keep it respectful at least. there are other games to play if you really hate the new direction

I genuinely believe that this will never work due to the fact that PoE is an online game. There's lag, packet loss, and other forms of jitter... PoE simply cannot rely on players' mechanical skills and ms-level reaction times to this extent and ignore this reality.

This is absolutely true. I have over 600 hours in this game. I only just finished the campaign for the first time last league, using a minion build because lag issues meant it was the only way I could ever survive harder content. Plus my generally poor twitch skills mean I will never be able beat everything on pure skill even without the constant lag spikes that plague me. Rewarding twitch skill is good, making twitch skill the only valid skill, and removing build skill and system mastery as paths forward is not a good plan.

I used a similar build (Absolution/Arcane Conduit) to quickly finish the campaign with my first character this league btw, and hit a wall of death in maps, because I simply hadn't found enough loot to overcap my res by enough.

Welp... this will no longer be my main game in the future. It's been a good run.
