What option I have to obtain watchstone from Maven since I never defeat Maven?
It'd be fine if we weren't forced into a meta slave mindset which at present seems to be the case.
There's an enormous disconnect on what meta can do and what nonmeta can do. And I say that as someone who in the past has played heavystrike every league. It begs the question of what should and shouldn't be possible. It's good that the atlas progression is getting nerfed somewhat. It's still the atlas though and well, grinding maps all day isn't that interesting to me. Never was. Most likely out of the gate you're going to be wall to wall meta clearers as league starters. That's your first indication the game isn't in a healthy state. |

Atlas tree will more than make up for not having sextants until you unlock voidstones. Relax people.
Also, if you can't beat maven or Uber elder do you really need to have the entire atlas at T16? Lol https://getyarn.io/yarn-clip/988f3369-4b68-4eb9-bc0e-edfce4c3c950

" I somewhat agree, if the 0 voidstone atlas has at least more than 4 T16 maps. It's hard to tell until we see the final atlas, but it didn't look like many options at the top with nothing socketed. Again though, I fail to see how the Devs could be sitting around the table discussing endgame, progression, and aspirational content, and the decision was made to lock 2 of the voidstones behind content that 97%+ (I forget the actual percentage for UE and Maven, let alone combined) havent completed to this point. Do they really want this to be the case for the Altas? I dont understand. Its seems so anti-player from a retention standpoint. The players completing the Atlas were the ones that would have been playing anyways... You can ask for help.
You can learn and beat her yourself. ...That's it. If you can't beat an uber endgame boss, you can't have the reward, that's... pretty normal. Now with all the buffs, with the new implicits from the new currencies, (maybe even some useful passives on the Atlas tree ? There may be some nodes related to Maven's realm, who knows), it should be easier. But as everyone says, and even if this answer is frustrating when you're given it, you've gotta learn the bosses pattern then you'll eventually have no problems anymore ;) Sure Maven is particularly hard 'cause of one-shot mechanic of the memory game and those crazy degen rays at the end.. But you get used to it and the 2 new bosses may be even worse ! And at least any build can kill her, unlike that stupid Vaal queen >>' Thanks to Noffin on reddit, we got a little memory training game here : https://niteb.itch.io/maven-memorygame And something I found reaaaally useful to know about it :

The fight for me is disgusting.
I beat her once just to get her done and after that I just buy a carry. Never invite Vorana, Last To Fall at a beer party.

" Maybe you don't need the entire Atlas to be T16, but you will greatly benefit from the use of sextants, as they help your progression. Again, gating sextants behind every measurable point of progression (besides league challenges), is a very strange decision. Sometimes, just sometimes, you should really consider adapting to the world, instead of demanding that the world adapts to you.

" Gating anything in regards to the Atlas tier system is strange was my point. It's new. You never had to kill any of the endgame aspirational bosses to be able to run T16 maps. You could easily get all the watchstones previously. The only thing gated was a few endgame Atlas passives. I just think it's a poor, anti-player(large scale), change in philosophy. I mean what is the actual defense of the system here? Besides the usual "Git Gud Scrublord", which I dont think is helpful... The Uber bosses are optional content which yield optional rewards (that aren’t even tied to power creep in this example, btw). You can be upset about it, or overcome your feelings and adapt. Or pay for it. Or find a friend to do it for you.

" That's an interesting take? Isnt everything in PoE optional? I think merely having access to large pool of T16 maps isn't (and wasnt previously) a big ask. Meh, no point in making glue outta this horse. I wont be playing 3.17 anyways. Good luck my average exiles!
