The 80% cut in ES is brutal, I hope it doesn't actually work that way.

It would mean investing in 3000 ES to be the same as Hyaons....

Not seeing a lot of Hyaon's builds around.

Even at 10k ES, its only 2k flat elemental, so basically HOWA but less versatile. Gross.

Well we are talking about a level 1 gem. maybe level 20 gem leaves 60% ES, or gets more damage yet. I bet for one of those options.

To be fair there are not many builds that can really use this gem in full potential, if it dont get much better on level 20.

And most probably it wont ignore all stats from you current weapon, cause if not its total garbage

looking at the gem description its says:
min 5% plus 2
max 100% plus 40

i imagin the "plus" is a flat amount that increase with level.

These abilities that came out just make me wanna roll a "Dark Templar" from Starcraft xD

I'll be playing around with this but would be interesting to see the interactions

Ok forget Energy Blade with howa or any other weapon, forget about it at all cause this skill sucks really bad, ggg made the bad decision of it entirely replacing your current weapon when u cast energy blade.

mh, 7% crit and 1,7aps isn't that bad. The question now is... can we support the skill with stuff like increased crit chance or something like that. I didn't think so at first, but since it creates a whole item, maybe that item gets stats from support gems?

Btw. what weapon did the characters on those Screenshots have equipped beforehand? Maybe it was just a white 1h or 2h weapon without stats and it normally transfers the original weapons' stats to the energy blade?

a) Is Energy Blade a reservation skill that reserves ES in order to give you Energy Blade weapons?

-No. Energy shield cannot be reserved.

b) Do Energy Blades require that you use another attack gem (meaning that what we saw in the trailer was Spectral Throw with Energy Blades equipped), or does having Energy Blades equipped grant you access to a separate skill that does what we saw in the trailer?

-The skill just gives you the weapons. If you want to attack with them, you'll need an attack skill that's usable with swords.

c) Is hitting with an Energy Blade considered a spell hit (no attack block, no Accuracy required) or attack hit (attack-blockable, requires an Accuracy vs Evasion check)?

-They're weapons. You attack to use them.

d) There's an image of the 1h and 2h Energy Blades available in another post. They appear to have a pretty specific base damage rating. Does the amount of ES used/reserved have any effect on the blades (presumably increasing the base damage)?

-How much max ES you have affects the implicit mod on the blades.

e) Does equipping 1h Energy blades: 1) replace only the main hand weapon, allowing for shields and off-hand weapons to be used as normal; 2) replace any active weapon, i.e. both dual-wielded weapons, but ignore shields; or 3), replace anything equipped in the hands slots, making shields/off-hand weapons unavailable?

-with the exception of not working at all with Bows (because quivers are weird).

f)How do sockets work with the energy blade? if we have a 1 hander before are we losing the sockets on the weapon? when we use energy blade?

-The Energy Blade your weapon transforms into still has the same the sockets (and things in them)
