Server providers for South-Africa

I've been having far worse last these past few days in certain instances. It would idle between 100-900ms, and as soon as you start doing anything it has these spikes to almost 5000ms at times till I get disconnected.

Also getting bad lag spikes today peaking at around 260ms, and running at an average of 100ms.





Loads of packet loss as well...

Some problems this afternoon at Psychz... don't know if there is different servers also but ingame it's wild.

Some maps have beautiful 20-30ms ping then as soon as you open a new one its zigzags between 200 and high thousands sometimes reaching double digit thousands with no way to create a new instance for it.

was fine this morning. and now getting up to 6k latency.

I was excited about this server. but now i recon i might as well jsut play on EU and deal with 160ms

Yeah its unplayable. You would think there would be a system in place that alerts the server admin that its users are experiencing 20k+ ping spikes. Hope GGG gets a refund for whoever they are using now.

Psychz is pulling the wool over your eyes GGG. they are not competent enough to host game servers. their hardware may be up to standard but their network infrastructure just DOES NOT WORK UNDER LOAD.
How can they justify 5-10% packet loss for running around in the Mine encampment or hideout? Not to mention the atrocious performance in any map/instance with monsters in it. I understand you are trying to save money but holy crap man, its like you are trying to push all the SA traffic through the eye of a needle.

As you can see with the provided winMTR logs, the shit happens as soon as you reach Psychz. There is NO ISP BS happening.

Keep the feedback coming y'all, just remember to be patient as this is still experimental and prone to this kind of thing.

I hope that they find a reliable bare metal host here, fortunately we have lots to shop around with. Assuredly, the South African playerbase would love to see this succeed!

@Fitzy_GGG: Have you expanded your search to Cape Town hosting? It serves as one of the major landing points for multiple undersea cables that link up with Europe and the rest of Africa, and has a not insignificant amount of data centers in the region.

We don't know what kind of hardware is required and the budget constraints you are working with, so unfortunately I think suggestions from the community may yield little to no result. That, and I think the percentage of players who also have knowledge of suitable and known reliable providers would be in the low single digit range :)

I can understand the frustration players are going through here, and the bias to get something that works so they can just play right now may come across as slightly hostile.

Was great playing today as it seems like the Psychz server was down and I was only getting azure with a frankfurt thrown in here and there.

But I guess the good time can't last and at about 10pm the Psychz servers came online and the latency went to shit again.

Really though they finaly got rid of the trash. Oh well, back to the suffering.
